Hopefully someone may know an answer to this.

I moved over to Barcelona recently, I'm originally from Ireland. I brought over my PS4 with me, on it with downloaded ff14. Thing is, it won't let me log in. When I use my details it says 'Due to a change in your connection settings or the detection of suspicious access to your account, login to your account has been temporarily restricted'.

It gives me a website to change my password, which I do, but it doesn't recognize the new password, just the old one. So when I try again to login to the old one, the same message comes up. I'm going around in circles.

Any suggestions? Is this because i have moved country, or is it a fault on SE's side?

It's sounds like their hack-proof system or something similar to that. Lot of things do this now, if there's a major location change detected then it locks the account. Just contact customer support, they should ask you some questions to verify your identity (battle.net asks for a picture of your photo ID for example, I've had to do this multiple times with them), and you should be good.

Have been advised that this issue is now resolved. :) Turns out the famously bad Square Enix support is not all that bad after all, they've sorted it.

For anyone having the same issues (can happen if you try the wrong password too many times), the solution seems to be to call SE. Judging by reports of the issue on reddit, the instructions don't seem to work reliably and calling SE seems the be the way to go.
