Who are some of your favourite stand-up comics?

I like Mark Little :monster:

Louis C.K.

I'm going to see him next month for the Oddball Comedy Festival. A bunch of other funny people will be there as well.

My favorites are Daniel Tosh, Jim Gaffigan and Dave Chappelle.

Jim Gaffigan and Jim Jeffries.

Tommy Davidson did a bit on Spanish Television that really cracked me up (no one else understood any of the jokes. sigh).

I've never watched Roseanne do stand up, but her sitcom was really great, so.

Jim Gaffigan and Dave Chappelle

Both these people are definitely great. I am pretty bummed that Gaffigan won't be in the lineup for the day I'm attending.

Jim smurfing Jefferies is a god amongst men.

Pun intended. If that is a pun. I'm not so good at the comedy.

Patton Oswalt is my chubby soul mate.

Louis CK, Maria Bamford, Mike Birbiglia, Daniel Tosh. And I give no fucks, Dane Cook's albums still make me laugh after like ten years. :colbert:

George Carlin and Bill Hicks. I like comedians with dark material that try and make you think.

Most of their work is nsfw in general but here's a nice closer to a show, more thoughtful than funny:

Lee Evans is just a God in my eyes. I'll be going to see him for the second time later this year. He's so expressive and can be so hilarious without being too dirty.

I also love Lee Mack. Now he is dirty, but also bloody hilarious! I'm seeing him again for the second time in September. Last time I saw him I had a really embarrasing moment where the laughter had died down and I was still totally hysterical.

Rhod Gilbert is my third favourite. I can't explain the laughing fits I have had over this man. I have been seriously close to wetting my pants on several occasionans.

God bless comedians!!!

Louis CK is the best thing in stand up and will be for his lifetime probably. he does what he does very well.

as a rule i tend to avoid stand-up comedy because a lot of it just doesnt sit well with me. the observational thing just isnt very funny to me 99% of the time (gee, fat people huh? lol) and a lot of comedians seem to have a gimmick and just stick to it all their lives without seemingly trying to evolve it

ofc carlin and hicks owned it tho

Mitch Hedberg

he is one of the most under rated comics. if you haven't heard of him, he is well worth checking out!

Yeah, Mitch Hedberg was the bee's knees.

In a similar vain, Milton Jones makes me laugh a shedload with his one-liners, as does Stewart Francis.

Jim Gaffigan and Dave Chappelle.
Came in to mention exactly these guys. It would be so sweet to see them live someday. I also like Mike Birbiglia.

Loius CK is good but I feel he's hit or miss sometimes. The set he did when he hosted SNL was great though. I loved that he just went up there and did his routine during the intro rather than some stupid skit with the cast.

Also George Carlin deserves mention because he was a comedic genius.

Michael Jackson's Childrens Hospital from Frankie Boyle stands to be the most fucked up joke i"ve heard, and I fucking love it.

Frankie Boyle, Patton Oswalt, Mitch Hedgeberg, Reginald D. Hunter, George Carlin, Bill Hicks, and I've only scene the latest one from her, but Rosanne is pretty fucking hilarious too.

He was probably the worse cast member on SNL that I can recall anyway. I mean other then Jimmy Fallon of course.

I freaking love Jimmy Fallon. :< I have a friend who hates him because he always breaks character and LAUGHS IN ALL OF HIS SKITS but I love it, it makes me laugh even more xD

I blame him and Queen Latifah for this travesty:

Have you seen The Maria Bamford Show? The impression of her mother, oh my god, it just kills me xD She was in a Target Christmas commercial a couple of years ago, it was the weirdest thing ever to see her like that!

Oh man, Jimmy Fallon? Is that the guy who does a constant fake laugh throughout his talk show? I mean, if that's his real laugh, that is massively awkward because he laughs at things that are genuinely not that funny, if they're even funny at all.

No idea what he's like as a stand up comedian though. I know standups who laugh at their own jokes and it can be hilarious at times (Raybon Kan was the master of this).
