Ok, I know. Pies are a very English delicacy, ok Northern delicacy. But God, I love a good pie!!

I used to be obsessed with this Chicken and Gravy pie Tesco used to do. I ate it with spaghetti because let's face it- what doesn't go with spaghetti?

I also was fond of a meat&potato pie on the way to watch Manchester United play. They did the best pies with lots of gravy!

So this thread might go down like a lead balloon as it's a bit of a cultural thing I guess. But- do you have a favourite pie that fills you with warmth and happiness?

Pies go beyond England! Americans love their pie! The Rock likes pie!

If you're talking savory, I love a chicken pot pie.

Desert pies, I love chocolate pudding pie the most. But I also love lemon, blueberry, apple, cherry... Really, I love any pie!

Chocolate mousse pie for sweet pies, but I make a badass peanut butter chocolate fudge pie. For food pies, nothing beats a steak and ale pie.

Hmm... I think my favourite is Steak and Kidney, with Chicken and Bacon a close second. But in reality I love all pies.

Semen aside, does Buzz even actually come in pies?

Haha, I'm pretty sure this little illustrator probably meant "come in peace" :-)

Never fear. Australians are here!
We love our meaty pies too.

Note: It's just a curry beef pie with mash, mushy peas and gravy. I don't know why it's called a Tiger

I like Sheppard's/Cottage pie. I also like Chicken Pot pie and the Irish variant of the Sheppard's pie (steak and ale).

As for desert, I guess my favorite pie might be Key Lime or Blueberry, but I love lots of different pies.

Pecan
Lemon Meringue
Peach
Chocolate Creme
Rhubarb
Blackberry
Raspeberry
..................basically any pie.

Sweet: my homemade peach pie with lime zest and maple-oatmeal-honey whiskey crumble topping.

Savory: my wife's (family's) tourtière, or my wife's pulled pork pot pie (kale, corn, etc.)

Y'know, the more I think on it, the more I realise that porn has really ruined cream pies. :(

I like Sheppard's/Cottage pie.

This. Haven't had any in forever. There is a vegetarian variant, but it just isn't the same. But man, this used to be one of my favourite foods.

If he's focusing on pies, he's really lowered his expectations from infinity and beyond.

The best pie is, objectively speaking, meat and potato. This is also the answer to best pasty (Cornish/peppered steak acceptable close seconds). I like good quality pork pies too.

Alas, I've been trying to eat well recently, so my life has been rather lacking in pies :(

When I was a kid, I always hated Shepherd's Pie, but I loved Cottage Pie. (Note: they are basically identical). My parent's would just call the Shepherd's Pie Cottage, and I would gobble that stuff up! :D

Kids are stupid. xD

My Mum used to make us Shepherd's Pie when we were kids and it was lovely. I later found out that she was actually making us Cottage Pie as she always used beef.

SHE LIED TO US FOR YEARS.

I don't frequently eat savory pies, but when I do I enjoy them. My favorite pie is Apple Pie. A nice warmed up slice of Apple Pie a la mode is, like, the pure distilled essence of what it means to be American.

Savoury pies are some of my favourite foods. Potato top pie (ie, mince + potato + cheese, veg optional), steak and kidney pie, mince and cheese pie, cottage pie, shepherd's pie and fish pie are all favourites of mine. Some bacon and egg pies can be really good, too. Also, I'm not sure if you count a Gregg's bake as a pie (they're very similar), but the sausage beans and cheese bake is loooovely.

I found a Rachel Ray recipe for "turkey chili shepherd's pie with sweet potato & cheddar topping"...

I'm usually iffy with Rachel's recipes. They almost always seem really out there in terms of flavors and ingredients.

But this. This is hella yummy. You mash the sweet potatoes with some nutmeg, sour cream, and o.j. (I leave put the o.j.) & slather it on top and then sprinkle a bunch of cheddar on top and bake.... Sooo yummy.
