What is your opinion on men in speedos/bikinis/banana hammocks etc.

Personally, I never understood why it's considered a big deal in some capacities (I imagine sexism and double-standards plays a part). A guy in a good-fitting and well-designed bikini looks confident and sexy.

Guys and girls, opiniions?

I have never heard of speedos being referred to as 'bikinis' before now. Ever. xD

I don't really find myself caring that much. It's an appearance thing, and if someone doesn't appear to be worth looking at (to put it in a subtle way), I just don't look at them.

They're not the same, but they both tend to have short leg, tight fit, etc. bikinis are usually more designed for fashion whereas speedos are for sport.

Regardless they tend to have a similar reputation ascribed to them.

In high school, I swam competitively. The first years, we had the small kind of Speedos. I got pretty used to that over time.

I've never purposely wore a "bikini" style bottom, but wouldn't care if I had to. In fact, I'd probably flaunt it. If someone else around me wears one, that's actually pretty cool.

I don't really find it attractive, but I guess someone does!

I think I would die if I ever wore one of those things, I struggle wearing shorts. But if someone wants to do it, heck, why not?

It's not an article of clothing really worn by men often, so when they are, dudes are going to get looks. There's nothing wrong with the style, it's just a bit out of the ordinary. So prepare for some gawking if you choose to go with that style, I guess!

It's not really too much different than a speedo in terms of coverage. As long as nothing is hanging out, go with it.

The only guys I ever actually see in speedos (not in a professional swimming capacity) are 80 years old, so all of my nope.

But hey, just because I and some other people don't like to look at it doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. Wear what makes you happy and comfortable.

I would look awful in one. :p Others seem to look pretty okay, though.

The "bikini" shape looks goofy to me, so I find it rather ridiculous. It's not flattering to the shape of a man's body. Fitted square leg drag suits look best b/c of the way they shape the leg, showing off its muscularity (whether it is, in fact, muscular or not). Basically the swimming equivalent of the boxer brief.

Some dudes can pull of mankinis just as some girls can pull off bikinis. Both of those things are certainly not for everyone.
