That's what we would call a prequel, right?

I really loved the bit about how 1000 years ago the two worlds were almost destroyed by an over-abundance of the light flooding into the World of Darkness, and that it was up to the Warriors of Darkness to save everything.

Wouldn't it be cool to have a FF3-esq game where you play as the dark to save the world from being destroyed by the light?

I think so. It's one of the few FFs where I felt a prequel would actually work.
