Yep, it just released today (http://www.siliconera.com/2014/09/04/theatrhythm-final-fantasy-curtain-call-demo-today/)and I am eager to get my grubby hands on it when I get some free time. Players who download it will receive some cool stuff in the full release for having the demo save on their 3DS.
The demo has only two tracks which you can play on the three main difficulties. The music notes you hit have been modified to make certain sections easier and now they added special notes that when hit correctly, speed up characters on travel songs and lands critical hits in battle mode.
The demo features a party of Tifa (AC Version), Edgar, Laguna, and Lightning (LR Version) the battle mode was set in the City of Edge and one of the bosses I encountered so far is Bahamut Sin from Advent Children. This was for the J-E-N-O-V-A Track which was the Advent Children version. Summons still work the same and I can confirm Ramuh and Shiva are in it. Battle work largley the same but the game now adds a rainbow after effect near the characters to help the player sort out which character the note will affect and thus making it easier to keep up on the more hectic difficulty settings.
The travel stage is Edgar and Sabin's Theme and the map was actually Figaro Castle itself. Chocobos can still be summoned though I seem to always get the Black Chocobo. Travel mode largely works the same in the demo as it did in the main game with party members using skills to increase luck and travel speed on the journey.
The changes are minimal so far but the demo lacks a lot of the features the full game has. The full game will feature characters from both the 3DS and iOS versions of the games as well as most of the music. New characters for each title as well as characters from Type-0 , Lightning Returns, FFXIII-2, Mystic Quest and FFTactics are also all confirmed to be in the game as well as music from their respective games. The game also features a new Quest Medley Mode which is an RPG style mode where characters travel around a map and fight monsters for a chance to reach dungeons and defeat their bosses. It plays like a strange mix of the original game's challenge mode and a more robust version of the EDS Find MII StreetPass RPG. Here's a video to show what I mean.

It's a pretty short demo but one that will likely get people pumped for the game's full NA release September 16 and the European release September 19th.
