Yep, it just released today (http://www.siliconera.com/2014/09/04/theatrhythm-final-fantasy-curtain-call-demo-today/)and I am eager to get my grubby hands on it when I get some free time. Players who download it will receive some cool stuff in the full release for having the demo save on their 3DS.

The demo has only two tracks which you can play on the three main difficulties. The music notes you hit have been modified to make certain sections easier and now they added special notes that when hit correctly, speed up characters on travel songs and lands critical hits in battle mode.

The demo features a party of Tifa (AC Version), Edgar, Laguna, and Lightning (LR Version) the battle mode was set in the City of Edge and one of the bosses I encountered so far is Bahamut Sin from Advent Children. This was for the J-E-N-O-V-A Track which was the Advent Children version. Summons still work the same and I can confirm Ramuh and Shiva are in it. Battle work largley the same but the game now adds a rainbow after effect near the characters to help the player sort out which character the note will affect and thus making it easier to keep up on the more hectic difficulty settings.

The travel stage is Edgar and Sabin's Theme and the map was actually Figaro Castle itself. Chocobos can still be summoned though I seem to always get the Black Chocobo. Travel mode largely works the same in the demo as it did in the main game with party members using skills to increase luck and travel speed on the journey.

The changes are minimal so far but the demo lacks a lot of the features the full game has. The full game will feature characters from both the 3DS and iOS versions of the games as well as most of the music. New characters for each title as well as characters from Type-0 , Lightning Returns, FFXIII-2, Mystic Quest and FFTactics are also all confirmed to be in the game as well as music from their respective games. The game also features a new Quest Medley Mode which is an RPG style mode where characters travel around a map and fight monsters for a chance to reach dungeons and defeat their bosses. It plays like a strange mix of the original game's challenge mode and a more robust version of the EDS Find MII StreetPass RPG. Here's a video to show what I mean.

It's a pretty short demo but one that will likely get people pumped for the game's full NA release September 16 and the European release September 19th.

I probably wouldn't try this as a full release. But I think I will have to check out the demo. Fun time waster I'm sure. Maybe the demo will surprise me and I'll have to get the full thing. That kinda happened with Tomodachi Life

Players who have the demo on their 3DS will receive additional characters in the full version. It's not yet clear who or how many, though.

I downloaded this a couple minutes ago. It was a lot of fun! I'm a little rusty but I was still able to finish a song on expert mode and another on ultimate mode with an S rating. I've played the first game quite a lot in the past.

The characters the demo gave me were Laguna, Tifa, Lightning (Lightning Returns version) and I believe Ramza. Is it the same for everyone else? I had the same characters for both songs, but it was still in the same demo playthrough.

I'm so glad that i'm going to pre-order this. I've had a lot of luck getting pre-orders from the Square online store in the past. Some things have even arrived a day before release!

Ah, so it's Edgar. I thought it was Ramza. With the notes flying across the screen I didn't take a good look. It explains why he had a saw, though.

I had a yellow chocobo summon.

Just played the demo. Nothing too special since there are only two songs available, but I'm anxious to get the full game!

Downloading now. My goodness was it a job and a half to get all registered and stuff o.o

I wouldn't have bothered if not for the fact that it apparently affects the characters I can get in game. Which characters is it that I get by downloading this? The ones used for the demo?

Don't know at this moment but will probably get more info as we get closer to the the game's full release.

Forgot how addictive Theatrhycrack was. Playing the demo just made me dust off my copy of the original.

It's so wonderful. I cannot wait for next Tuesday to arrive. I need more people to play with! So far, I've only played with SQEX reps at the GSExpo earlier this week, and online with Japanese players.

I went out and got it today and played it for a couple of hours. It's very cool and has songs for every FF under the sun, basically. I am also digging the quest mode a lot. Well worth the purchase.

Holy.

Just for playing the demo we're able to get TEN characters? That was a joy to see when I started booting the game up!

They should've named the difficulties Try to Stay Awake, Easy, and Nearly Impossible.

EDIT: "LE" (presumably the Limited Edition) for this game is currently listed on Amazon Canada for the same price as the normal edition. Mistake? I guess I'll see in two days.

I guess I'll see in two days. The pre-order version of the game was a limited edition that came with a 5 song music disc at no extra cost. My guess is they still have some available so they're shipping out the limited supply while it lasts.

Oh I see. Limited Edition != Collector's Edition. Oh well.

If I hadn't just bought games...it's been too long since I last had a handheld, and I wish I could play this. I could see myself getting very addicted.
