So FFII introduced an amusing key word system that allowed you to unlock new sections of the plot, expand the story and even net you a cool item or two. Anyone happy to see this system gone? Wish it had become a staple of the series? Don't really care? What was your thought on the Memo system?

I could take it or leave it.

This has SO MUCH POTENTIAL, especially in the X-and-higher generation. Imagine a larger set of keywords, but with fewer "?" responses, and the ability to ask any NPC about them for a variety of dialogue. Imagine if the datalog in XIII had instead been integrated into conversations with NPCs. (Or rather that it fills up as a consequence of dialogue with NPCs, so you have to talk to learn but then can always go back and refer to what you learned through earlier conversation.)

X had a motley crew of npcs, & this would've been awesome to use w/ them.

It would be cool if future games used this but had keywords from previous installments for cameo purposes.

"Wild Rose? I met a guy once who...." etc etc
