Has anyone already watched a bit of it?

No. It does me little good to get pumped for a game I can't play.

Not being able to play it is a good reason to watch it.

Nah, I don't want anything spoiled for me. I'm so excited for this game I bought a Wii U just so I could play it. No way am I spoiling a game I'm that excited for beforehand.

One of the few reasons I want a Wii U. But I am still quite interested in it

I'll be getting this. I had seen gameplay from the first game but never ended up buying it, so I like that it comes bundled with the original. So happy I'll be able to get the full experience in.

The Link dlc looks like a great bonus as well.

Never seen the cover before. Did that trailer seriously just say it's both Bayonetta games in one? That's even better. As I had never played the first, only watched someone else play through it in spurts. They played while I was at work a lot so I didn't even see the whole thing. Sounds awesome

The reviews are out and the game is receiving universal acclaim. I think the last game I saw get this kind of widespread praise was The Last of Us.

There's a demo out on the eshop now. It's very short but very fun.

Bayonetta 2 comes packaged with the original Bayonetta. That's not a special pre-order thing either; every retail copy comes with both games, and if you buy Bayonetta 2 digitally from the Nintendo eShop, you also get the original digitally for free.

Even if you don't have or plan on getting a Wii U but you have a PS3 or a 360 and haven't played Bayonetta, you should do yourself the favor of playing it immediately. You can get it for less than $10 these days, and it's easily one of the greatest action titles ever and is more cray-zay over the top than even the Devil May Cry games.

Yeah I'm really surprised that this is getting a bunch of 10's and 9.5s considering its genre.

Same here. I figured it'd get a seven or an eight. Nintendo knew what they were doing helping to develop the sequel.

Such hype.

Such love.

I look forward to this launch.

Nintendo was actually involved in the development? I thought they just published and distributed.

My bad. They were just there as an "observer," but it's their partnership that is responsible for this game being made. Hence why it's a Wii-U exclusive.

Nah, Platinum was the sole developer. Nintendo just published it. The original Bayonetta didn't sell very well so no one was willing to publish the sequel, except Nintendo, hence Bayonetta 2 ends up a Wii U exclusive.

And sadly, despite all the critical acclaim, Bayonetta 2 has sold really poorly so far (it hasn't even managed to sell 50,000 copies in Japan yet, and it's been out there for almost a month. It only sold 3,300 copies in it's second week). Hopefully it does well in the west but considering it's exclusive to the Wii U and how few Wii Us there are out there in comparison to how many PS3s/360s were out when the original was released, things aren't looking very hopeful.

But even if it does turn out to be a complete commercial failure at least we got two awesome games out of it, one of which we almost didn't get at all.

Damn, why do Platinum/Clover games never sell?

So I got the game Friday and today I marathon'd my way through the Wii U port of the first game, which was a good idea because I'd gotten quite rusty since I last played it a year or two ago.

I just started the second game and played the Prologue, and let me just say, if the rest of the game is as good as that was, then it deserves all the praise it's getting. The tiny bit of it I have played was an absolute blast. I can't wait until I get home tomorrow to play more.

I know right? Nearly all of them receive high review marks and nearly all of them struggle to sell even modest amounts.

Now that I think about it, I've yet to play a game of theirs that wasn't unique and very fun to play.

Welp, it was more Bayonnetta. In a good way mind you. Nothing mind blowing. Story got pretty wonky, but there were a lot of great moments to be had.

I actually quite liked Loki in this. Not sure how popular that opinion is going to be though. :p

Finished it yesterday. It's a great game, very solid hack n' slash. Very fun, doesn't take itself seriously at all. But yeah for the most part it's just more Bayonetta, in a good way though. It's an over the top spectacle that's a blast to play, a solid 9/10.

The uptempo pop cover of Moon River the game uses is pretty addictive too. :p

Do I have to be the one to say it?

My Wii U is still suffering from Hyrule Warriors syndrome (so much to do in that game!), which is keeping me from getting Bayonetta 2 up and running properly. Glad it's as awesome as it looked, though.
