Former gridiron football player-turned-actor Terry Crews has replaced Cedric the Entertainer as the host of the U.S. syndicated version of the game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire; Cedric left after just one season. Crews, who stars in The Expendables trilogy of films, has received the blessings of both Cedric and Regis Philbin, the original Millionaire host. Meredith Vieira, meanwhile, is now the host of a syndicated daytime talk show, simply titled The Meredith Vieira Show. In addition, the show has also moved its production from New York City to Stamford, Connecticut.

The format is the same as it has been when Cedric was host, which has been in place since fall 2010: round 1 consists of 10 multiple choice questions of randomized monetary value and difficulty, ranging from $100-$25,000; an incorrect answer in round 1 drops the contestant's winnings down to $1,000. Round 2 consists of 4 multiple choice questions ranging in value from $100,000 to $1 million; an incorrect answer in round 2 drops the contestant's winnings down to $25,000. The lifelines consist of one Ask the Audience lifeline (the only remaining original lifeline) and two Jump the Question lifelines, which skips a question, but forfeits its monetary value. Also, there are no time limits to answering questions.
