Think of this like Comfort Food where you just need to play this game to relax, unwind, and play something fun and familiar. What games do you consider Comfort Gaming where you come back to it when you're stressed or just want to game but not play anything new or just want something familiar?

Counter-Strike and TF2 are frequently played when I'm not sure what to play or just want to kill some time. Gran Turismo is fun to grab too and just enjoy some driving.

When I'm looking to just chill out and relax? Usually something along the lines of Halo/Destiny multiplayer with friends or Minecraft. I've a single player world on PC with the amplified settings enabled. I'm yet to get very far in it at all and desperately need to find some iron to make a bucket to stop myself from starving to death.

Saints Row 2. And these days probably SR4 as well. And I think Skyrim and Oblivion are great comfort games. Just wander around, explore. Do stuff. Nice relaxing and stress-free. There's probably others, but these are the ones that springs to mind most. Odd that the only ones I can think of are strictly from the previous generation lol

Final Fantasy X is very relaxing to me because of the atmosphere and music, and is probably the comfort game I play most. Especially in the end game when just roaming around catching monsters or farming spheres. I boot up Flower once in a while when stressed but not as much. Dark Souls co-op is always a good laugh and because there's nothing at stake when helping other players it can be very relaxing and hilarious.

Pretty much anything by Capcom.

It's like they make games for me, and only me. :jess:

I'll usually goof around with cheats on Deus Ex when I want some comfort gaming.

Anything on my Super Nintendo. Super Mario World, A Link to the Past, Pilotwings, Contra III. Games that remind me of a simpler and happy time in my life.

Don't get me wrong, I love video games though for some reason I have an easy tendency to become frustrated with any game I play unless it's an RPG where the gameplay is relatively straightforward. Otherwise, all other games are rage inducing and wouldn't consider them comfort gaming. That being said, Destiny seems to be working quite well these days.

Digimon World, I've played through it so much File Island is like a second home. Although Senran Kagura Burst is a close second just on the count that I almost always have my 3DS on hand.
