Okay so I know for stat maxing and whatever, its best to wait for espers before level grinding. But that's really not my play style. I've never been a person who cares about maxing anything so long as I can get through the game with relative ease. So is it worth it for me to wait or is it not that big of a deal?

Not worth it. The game is more than easy enough without stat maxing. Only reason to even think about doing it is for a low level run and bragging rights.

Not to mention there's usually 2 or 3 espers per stat. So it's not like you have to collect them all to get the job done. The first few espers are probably good enough if you trade them out frequently enough

If you're OCD like me, it's worth it. Otherwise there is literally no reason for it to be necessary.

Alrighty thanks guys. I'm at level 15ish and I just got Celes in Locke's little split story, so I wanted to make sure I wasn't level grinding just to screw myself over

I wouldn't wait for espers to level grind, but then again that early in the game I don't really feel the need to grind at all.

Hell, even without Esper stat raises you'd be nearly unkillable by the time you reach level 50 or so. It's not a hard game if you ignore stat progression and just learn spells and new abilities.

I never paid attention to the stats Espers give. It isn't as big of factor as some people make it out to be.

It's not even really necessary to grind unless you just need the g to buy something.

I have been grinding and sure enough the monies have come in handy. I just got Gau and I had like 60000, which was enough to buy equipment for everyone and do that letter mailing sidequest thing and buy a bunch of Hi-Potions and I still have a good chunk of money left

Note that enemies on the Veldt don't give experience, so if you want to grind for gil or AP without raising your characters' levels, that's a good place to do it. The Fanatics' Tower in the second half of the game is another good place to do that.
