Once you notice them, they really do start to pop. I heard the fashion designer who designed the clothes really loves red soles for some reason, but it would be nice it they could tone it down a bit.

I adore the red soles, actually. I don't see how they're not practical. They're just red. They'll get dirty, sure, but they won't impede your walk or anything. It's a nice touch that the whole party has them.

At night. In the forest. Where there is no light source that can reflect off the red soles. Unless it's the light of your flashlight WHICH IS ALREADY A DEAD GIVEAWAY AS TO WHERE YOU ARE!

That was immediately the first thing I thought about when I saw the red-soled shoes! Can't say I'm the biggest fan of them though as they do kind of stick out like a sore thumb, as OP stated.
