Haste is never not useful. Protect and Shell are nice too, but until I get Mighty Guard I don't use them that much. Unlike Haste, which I cast at the start of every boss battle after I get it.

There's nothing greater than being able to spam Limit Breaks. Stock up on Aura spells, people. They make a good junction too!

I basically had Protect, Shell, Haste and Bubble on constantly in FFXII. Haste and Regen are the standards for other games, though.

That's the problem though; in FF8. Aura is best in only one single game, while haste is still good in that game as well, and best in all the others, which still makes it the overall winner.

Haste, you just can't beat the advantages of Haste in turn style combat. You could beat anything in FFX without getting touched with Haste, Slow, and Delay Buster :p

A close second would be Aura in FFVIII. Limit break spaaaaaam! It'd be first on my list if FFVIII didn't give you a kazillion other ways to make the party unbeatable gods.

Haste, hands-down. It's always useful. You can heal and kill faster. You also cast Haste on others faster.
I really liked how in FFXIII (I have not played the later titles) casting Haste on Lightning as she wields that one sword that makes her action bars fill faster as she deals damage (or was it an item?), and using Army of One lets her attack almost nonstop.

Second favorite has to be that one status enhancement that makes other status enhancements last longer. I think it's astra. It just basically lets your guys use haste for a longer amount of time.
