Recommend me every action RPG you know of/like. And since there seems to be some debate on what the term actually means, I'm talking about stuff like Diablo, Torchlight, and Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance. You know, go around and hit stuff and take their loot and then repeat. No story or characters necessary, just good ol' fashioned killing.

So recommend me stuff other than the three games I mentioned earlier in this post :jess: Preferably available on Steam.

Ever play Champions of Norrath or the console versions of Baldur's Gate/Dark Alliance? The company responsible for them made one last swan song during the last generation before they closed. An LotR game called War in the North. And it was fantastic. There's actually great characters and story. But the gameplay makes you feel like such a badass. It's so fun. So it's like a perfect mixture for an ARPG fan. I'd easily rank it above Diablo 3. But that's just me. It's available on PS3, 360, and PC. Super cheap for all. Worth a peek at least

I always found Dungeon Siege ridiculously fun, it was pretty much never-ending too, and when you did finally reach the end, there were two more never-ending games!

Path of Exile is on Steam and free. It's the game Diablo III should have been and filled with so many design choices that make RPG mechanics nerds rejoice.

Fate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fate_(video_game)) is freaking awesome. It's like a more cute, single player version of Diablo. I wasted a goooooood amount of my life playing it when it first came out, and I'm sure it'd still hold up as a really fun game nearly 10 years later.

The best games of this style ever made are, in no particular order, Diablo, Diablo 2, and Titan Quest. They're all in various states of age at this point, of course; Diablo 1 is virtually unplayable at this point, for instance. TQ is still worth it, and that's what I'd recommend.

Path of Exile is alright, it has its perks, certainly. Torchlight 2 is fine, better than Torchlight 1; but I didn't really like Torchlight 1 much, so unimaginative. When Grim Dawn comes out, it should be great.

Path of Exile is decent. Dungeon Siege was fun!

Path of Exile, Drakensang Online and Marvel Heroes would be my top 3.

There is a huge impressive list of Diablo alternatives here that is also quite helpful (http://gameslikefinder.com/games-like-diablo/).

Path of Exile, Dungeon Siege, Dark Cloud, Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, all that jazz. If you'e okay with online games you can't beat the original Guild Wars.

I may take some heat, but ARPGs are so much better with a controller. My favourites of all those I've played are Champions and Champions Return to Arms.

Those are indeed fantastic games. In fact I think they were my first real love of the genre. I can't remember if I played Diablo 2 first, or Champions of Norrath first, but I imagine I beat Norrath faster and enjoyed it a bit more

And again, I say, that team made War in the North, and it is fantastic. So Araciel should check it out too :P And even though I got it on PC, I beat it on 360. With a niiiice controller in my hand <3

I played all of Diablo III on the 360 with a controller. (And of course, all of Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance on PS2)

DeathSpank (http://store.steampowered.com/app/18040/) surprised me at how fun it was. It depends on whether you appreciate the humor though.
