I am in work tomorrow for three hours (most pointless day in work of the year) and then I'm off until the 5th January with full pay, no annual leave used. I've been looking forward to this for months.

What time off do you get during these fine holidays? In fact, what is your favourite time of the year to take off of work/school?

None :(

I'm not picky!

I'm working up to Xmas Eve by choice. They're not difficult shifts at that time, so I'm alright working them. Not back to work until 5th Jan though, which is fine. :}

It's nearly impossible getting off for the holidays where I work. I take the time around my bday & my mom's bday & Super Bowl Monday.

I work retail. I don't get time off this time of year.

I'll take time off whenever.

I work partially into Christmas Eve since I am third shift, but I think I can get away with having the next 3ish days off after that (Christmas for sure). Either way doesn't concern me too much.

I have Christmas day off. Sometimes I gaze longingly into the distance and wonder how the other half live.

August seems to be the ideal time for a vacation. No major holidays and people are starting to settle in from their summer fun, but the weather's still nice. I was in two major airports last year and didn't really have to queue up for anything except the metal detector/empty your pockets process.

Working up until Christmas Eve but then have four days off to make sure MissH is properly catered for. She is very sick at the minute :(

I would also prefer Christmas season to take off from work. Unfortunately, I've usually used all of my vacation hours by this time, and we only get the 25th/26th off and then the 1st off for new years.

Starting to wish I hadn't volunteered to work on the 26th. Oh well, at least I get my birthday (22nd) off.

My job is giving us the 24th-26th off so I just took off monday and tuesday for the full week! I'm too new to get paid for it though. But they don't care if I take it off at least.

I work on Christmas Eve but I've taken that off as holiday so I can travel to see the family. 3 days mandatory annual leave between Boxing Day and Dec 31 and then I'm back in on January 2nd. I then have four days annual leave to tide me over until June...

I'm taking this weekend off and then I get a paid day off for Christmas! This is the first year I have worked non-retail so it is really nice, not going to lie...

I will be working most likely December 22-24th, and Dec. 29-30 AND Jan. 2nd...yay. I have to work because my project ends here next month and I'm going on a trip that's already been paid for, so I need the extra money.

It's cool that your job is eating, but you shouldn't call yourself an animal dude!

I have the 24th, 25th, and 26th off, but then work seven days straight from the 27th until January 2nd.

My birthday is New Year's Eve. The 1st is going to be a disaster.

Most of these responses certainly make me even more grateful for my 16 days off.
