Inspired by the title and theme of the recent Vsauce video. Go at it, gladiators. :p

Soup requires broth, silly! Milk isn't broth. It's milk!

If the milk is two months past due, yes

To me soups equate to warmth. I would not eat warm cereal, whether milk is considered a broth or not. I'd say no, but I guess it depends on your definition/preference

Oh ho ho, what a troll you are, Quinny.

Soups can be cold, like Gazpacho. Cereal can be hot, like Cream of Wheat or Farina*.

However, both of those things are not @ all alike.

See, this is what happens when Shorty leaves staff. Now the CKs only have Psychotic to look up to & we get stuff like this! :spin:

*Dammit, I cannot find a clip of Seinfeld shouting "There's a hair in my Farina! There's a hair in my Farina!"

No. Cereal is not a soup. The liquid is an afterthought to the cereal itself. The liquid of soup is actually the main idea for soup.

Cereal is cereal. Soup is soup.

Cereal is cereal. Soup is soup.

I don't know how any sane man could say this. "Imma have a tasty bowl of cereal this fine morning! Hmm, shall I have milk today? Nah! Why bother? *crunch crunch crunch oh god my mouth has become a wasteland devoid of all water and life crunch crunch crunch*"

I've done this so, so many times.

Quin speaks truth. The only cereal that is tolerable without milk is frosted flakes, and that's because they're mostly sugar.

Have you never had Froot Loops? Or Honey Nut Cheerios?!

The Man
01-04-2015, 06:31 AM
Ok, those are somewhat tolerable dry too. But those are mostly sugar as well, so I think my point stands. If it doesn't have sugar, it's inedible dry.

You're all plebians who have clearly never had the greatness of Fruity Pebbles in your life.

Oatmeal is hot breakfast, not cereal. :colbert: I refuse to acknowledge it as cereal!

For the record, Cap'N Crunch is pretty good as a dry snack as well

And though I'd consider it some off-hand side-project to cereal, I could concede that oatmeal is some type of cereal. Given the fact that you could probably eat cereal with water instead of milk. But then you'd probably be dead to the rest of civilized society so your opinion may not even matter if that were the case

Who eats oatmeal without milk? That's madness and I reject it.

I've eaten cereal without milk only when I don't have milk available. Even then, I don't eat much and just think "I really wish I had milk right now.

I know people who have eaten cereal with water though. The person I'm thinking of at the moment couldn't drink milk though, and we had no alternative on that day in the college cafeteria. Heck, I've seen people put water on their cereal because we ran out of milk for the day in the caf and they were desperate. Those people ended up throwing it away though.

Cereal is not soup.

Strangely, I can't remember what sort of cereal it was.

Let's expand. If it can be a soup because milk is added then does that make biscuits n gravy soup? The gravy is made with milk, then sausage and biscuits are no different than regular soupy things.

Soups are savory- cereals are sweet. I love cereals. Triple chocolate crunchy flakes blow all the other cereals out of the water. I love that shit.

*This isn't just any cereal, this is Marks and Spencers triple chocolate crunchy flakes orgasmic cereal*

There's a such thing as sweet corn or sweet chowder soup.

Cereal is not a soup though. What a troll of a question. Cereal also doesn't require liquid like soup does.

Chicken soup without broth is just chunks of chicken. Cereal without milk is just gravel.

Maybe in the People's Republic it is, but here in the land of the free, cereal has to be 98% high fructose corn syrup by law.
