The site started redirecting me to random ads for just staying on the page. Happened once in a thread (don't remember which one), and just now while on the main page: screenshot (http://i.imgur.com/3hmCb1j.png).

Browser: SeaMonkey version 2.31. Just started happening a couple of minutes ago.

It's been doing it to me lately too as soon as I open a new page, on both the forums and the frontsite, with the latest version of firefox. I'm virus free.

At least I know it's not my computer. What Avast detected last night didn't seem to be connected with this.

IT could be our adnetwork because I have adblocker on chrome and haven't had an issue one.

Probably something that has slipped through Google AdSense. If you don't want to wait it out (Google generally aren't too bad at catching on to this kind of thing as someone inevitably reports it), I can report it to Google if you can establish which ad it is which is doing this, preferrably with a url as otherwise I'm not sure Google will accept it.

It happened again while browsing the Sport of Nerds thread. Only this is a different ad, and it opened a new tab instead of redirecting so I'm not sure how related to my previous problem it is, but I saved the link this time regardless:

No. I figured it didn't have anything to do with my computer since it was happening to theundeadhero, too, but I'll run one anyway just to be safe.

Wouldn't be a bad idea. We even use it at my job and it always catches things even though i'm pretty obsessed with the protection on our work computers.

The result of the scan says "Non-malware items detected: 350."

I'm guessing that's a good thing?

It's probably cookies and things. Best to get rid of them too.

Came in here to post this link of the brain ad that started all of this, and then dad called me into the living room and I forgot.

Anyways, here it is: http://consumernews247.com/brains/indexbs.html?voluumdata=vid..00000005-dce4-4baf-8000-000000000000__vpid..49e08000-96c9-11e4-8a2a-26d81aea20ff__caid..ac94a34b-c0d9-47a8-b3b6-5e60883b640f__lid..24ac8ea6-da38-41c8-a02d-b53724239093__rt..R__oid1..38bf1f34-0eb3-40ff-8ea6-5e6f9a12359d&it=1420678365321&refurl=http://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/ads?client=ca-pub-5118159314321945&format=728x90&output=html&h=90&slotname=3106031112&adk=111655755&w=728&lmt=1420678360&flash=16.0.0&url=http://home.eyesonff.com/showthread.php/156947-Favourite-Final-Fantasy/page2&dt=1420678362669&bpp=19&bdt=2301&shv=r20141209&cbv=r20141212&saldr=aa&correlator=5644469906633&frm=20&ga_vid=1302229924.1381074278&ga_sid=1420678363&ga_hid=1326843208&ga_fc=1&u_tz=-360&u_his=32&u_java=1&u_h=900&u_w=1440&u_ah=860&u_aw=1440&u_cd=24&u_nplug=9&u_nmime=60&dff=tahoma&dfs=13&adx=347&ady=4538&biw=1423&bih=681&eid=317150304&oid=3&ref=http://home.eyesonff.com/search.php?searchid=1314868&rx=0&eae=0&fc=8&brdim=,,-8,-8,1440,0,1456,876,1440,681&vis=1&abl=CS&ppjl=f&fu=0&bc=1&ifi=1&xpc=OsMglth7Lj&p=http://home.eyesonff.com&dtd=311

xD

It could be a cache thing. Not sure. I've noticed that I had the latter one blocked with /brains/ included, I've removed that so it's just blocked by the raw domain now. Beyond that, the other one was indeed blocked fine in my AdSense panel so I'm not really sure if it isn't the cache causing the issue.

Personally, I get around most of these issues by having a very nice HOSTS file. ;)

Running a virus scan, but I've been getting redirected today

lemode-mgz.com and one more I forgot to grab a link for...

Nope it is the same place.

WOW THIS IS TERRIBLE I CANNOT BROWSE D:

I'm running a scan myself to make sure that it's not me.

Since my virus scan finished I have had none, so maybe there was something going on here.

EDIT: Nope I am still getting redirected.

Well advertising.com was just giving malware through ads on a bunch of popular websites. It was announced today (http://www.cyphort.com/huffingtonpost-serving-malware/) that it was happening. Sites like:

huffingtonpost.com
mandatory.com
laweekly.com
gooddrama.net
fhm.com
thewmurchannel.com
buzzlie.com
mojosavings.com
houstonpress.com
soapcentral.com
theindychannel.com
gamezone.com
weatherbug.com

to name a few... So a wide spread case of Malvertising. We may be in that network. So i'd advise virus scans for anyone experiencing it JUST IN CASE. Also if you visit sites like that, it's the AOL network.

I'm not sure how it can be a cache thing when EoFF seems to be the only site I visit where it happens.

Are you guys giving the urls of the sites you are being relinked to, or the ads? Can you give me both? I'm really not sure where to go on this at the moment, on the one hand I could keep blocking these sites until the cows come home but on the other hand it could be something else entirely and all this blocking won't help.

EDIT: Never mind, finally found a decent help topic on this within Google AdSense forums and discovered that yes, the ad network has issues right now, notably with sites such as consumernews247.com amongst others. I'm going to disable ads for a while.

Oh, I was just giving you the sites I was being redirected to.

I was never on a page long enough to actually see what the ad was, it was ridiculous how quickly I was being redirected.

'sokay, see my edit to the previous post. Ads will be disabled for a while. Hopefully Google AdSense will be better in a few days.
