Is Rinoa a Ranger?

So I'm readig TV Tropes because its better than doing dishes and I read this:

Rinoa is a Mythology Gag to the job class and a shout out to this trope: She's a crossbow-using fighter who fights with a dog and lives in a city built in the middle of a giant forest.

I hadn't even thought of this! I did think she was some kind of take on an Archer class, but I wasn't specifically thinking the ranger as far as having the animal companion

Did you think of her as a Ranger?

I never think about job classes when playing this game, but I'd say that description holds out pretty well for Rinoa. I don't have any problems thinking of her as a ranger.

I agree with Tori, this game never stood out as one that particularly ascribed to job classes, but what you said makes sense, I guess.

That sounds right. I never thought about potential classes much in this game other than Zell being a monk & Quistis being a Blue Mage. Squall would probably a Warrior & Irvine a Gunner. IDK about Selphie, though.

In FFX it's easier to tag each character as a job/mix of job classes. Tidus is a Warrior/Time Mage, Yunie a Summoner/White Mage, Rikku a Thief/Chemist, Kimahri a BlueMage/Dragoon, Auron a Knight/Samurai/Breaker, Lulu a Black Mage w/ high evasion & Wakka a Ranger/offensive Green Mage (tactician).

I never thought about it either but yeah that makes sense! I'd say she'd probably be a ranger/black mage/red mage hybrid considering her Angel wing limit makes her go magic berserk and she's also got a high magic stat along with strength stat.
