It's interesting seeing everyone's current mobile phone but which one was your first?

My first one was a Trium and it was spectacular. You could call, text, find out the time and date...

61773

Unfortunately, my Trium suffered a stroke in later life and became paralysed down one side. On the plus side, the Call button worked so I could ring people. On the down side, the Cancel Call button didn't work meaning I would connect to people's answer phones for hours on end.

It died unceremoniously when I smashed it into the floor in the centre of Oldham.

So come on, lets see yours.

When I was 11 I got my first phone. It was this bad boy

I had a tonne of cases you could switch over it, and you could compose your own ringtone... and of course.... SNAKE.

It was this, same color too (forgive the Instagram filters, this is the only picture I could find of this color):

I was 19 or 20 because I'm an old fart and this type of cell phone didn't exist until I was about that age.

I also rarely used it. My university group project partners would always get down on me because they could never contact me, since I never turned it on. :shobon:

Check out this sleek design, witches.

Available in lots of awesome colors too!

Both front and back covers were fully user replaceable, and tons of third party covers existed. Even ones that made your phone look like a slide phone.

Pikey, that was the very first cell phone my parents had!

The very first phone I purchased for myself was an LG Something with Cricket when I was sixteen? fifteen? I forget.

I have no idea what my first phone was.

It was some kind of flip phone with the caller ID on the face and it changed colors when someone called.

Oh pike, is that the 5110 or a similar but different model?

It's been so long that I honestly don't remember the model.

I got my first phone on my 14th birthday, which is pretty late considering that was, what, 2008-ish?

It was a very brick like phone. After a few months, my older brother appropriated it from me and I was phoneless for another few months until I was given another very basic phone, but it did flip up! I had that for another few years until last year, when I was given a moderately okay touchscreen phone, the Sony Experia E. It's sometimes laggy and slow, but it's good enough.

Samsung Tracfone. If there was a phone before this it was only slightly different.

That was my very first Mobile Phone. I can't remember much about it aside from it was god awful and was built like a literal house brick. I seriously could throw that at the wall and have to worry about the wall more than the phone! It had the most god awful keys to use and could only text on a single line, so it was a bit like writing in Notepad with word wrap off!

61810

That was my second, the classic 5110 the phone which sparked a teenage love affair with all phones Nokia! I swiftly moved from that to the venerable 3210, the indestructible 3410 and when my brother got a new phone, the 3510 too. The 3510 broke, leaving me using the 3410 again. Ironically the 3410 did break (screen popped) when I was in a club during my college years. I'm still yet to find a girl who could squeeze as hard as Michelle could.

61811

Sony W300 series Walkman phone. I had the white whose official designation was the W518a It too had some god awful keys (they were layered like fish scales or roof tiles) however, it was also god damn indestructible. I have it still floating around somewhere and am fairly certain it'd work if I absolutely needed a phone for a short period of time.

Since then I've been using Samsung's Galaxy series culminating in my current S5.

I honestly can't remember what my first phone was. Some sort of Nokia probably.

The first significant phone that I bought with my own money was the Sony Ericsson F500i -
http://www.dgttv.net/site_images/sony-ericsson-f500i-3.jpg

I've never been the kind of person to need the latest phone ASAP, and always go pay-as-you go, I just wanted a phone that would last me a while. Since this one did, I stuck with Sony Ericsson for my second, this time the k800i -
http://www.3g.co.uk/PR/May2006/K800Angle.jpg

Then my third and final Sony Ericsson, the Xperia. My favourite one due to the keypad -
http://www.fony.sk/photos/sony%20ericsson/se_xperia_mini_pro/art02.jpg

Sadly, by the time I wanted to get my current phone, the Sony Ericsson had become defunct, so I went for the next closest thing, which is the Sony Xperia E3. Perfectly happy with it, hope it lasts me at least a couple of years.

I find it strange that people with full time jobs still go for pay-as-you-go dealies. Maybe it's different whereever you are, but they're almost never cheaper to use than proper plans are over here.

It's definitely not something I decided on a whim. 99% of the IMing I do is via either FB, Skype, or WhatsApp, I don't use any data since free Wifi in my area is incredibly good, and I make about 1 phone call a month.
All in all I spend £5 a month maximum, which is fine by me. Not to mention the freedom of not having a contract phone.

I don't know if you're in the US, but don't you have to pay to receive texts and calls there on pay-as-you-go? Because we don't here, which would also make it significantly cheaper.

Well see, if I had your usage with my current plan (which is independent of my phone), I'd be at less than that a month.

Mine was the same as Pike's. Think it was Nokia 5110 or 5210 or something and it was cool as fuck. And it had 'Snake'. I miss that game *sigh*

Yeah, the 5110 was the phone *everyone* had when I was a teen. I, however, was progressive and futuristic so I bought the 3210 instead which was slightly newer than the 5110. I remember all those commoners being like "lol it probably has terrible reception it doesnt even have an antenna".

Actually, did some more research. That's definitely not a 5110 pike posted. It looks a lot more like the 6110, which was significantly better.

I think it had a fantastic design (and I still do, i guess) and I really liked the features it had too, but then I stabbed the display with the edge of my computer case.

It was actually closer to 11 years ago that I got it. It was my first semester at university.

It's crazy thinking when I was in High School, no one had cell phones. no one.

It's a necro, but I'll bite.

A Philips Savvy was my first ever mobile phone. It could call and it could text, and that was it. No fancy Snake game, no custom ring tones etc. It was basically a cordless housephone that Philips had converted into a mobile phone...

https://coimages.sciencemuseumgroup.org.uk/images/66/176/medium_2013_0147_0001__0001_.jpg

From there I went on to an indestructible Nokia 3310 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_3310), the piece of crap Sony Ericsson T100 (https://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_t100-349.php), a hand-me-down Sony Ericsson T610 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_Ericsson_T610), Nokia 6500S (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_6500_slide), Sony Ericsson W595 (https://www.cnet.com/products/sony-ericsson-w595-walkman-cosmopolitan-flower-edition-3g-gsm-cellular-phone/) flowery thing, a Samsung Galaxy S3, right through to now with the iPhone 6s Plus (which is the longest I've ever stuck with one phone, but after 5 years its age is showing)

I had at least one other phone first, but the earliest one I can clearly recall was my white LG Chocolate slide phone.

Calling? And Texting? AND an MP3 player? 4 GB memory card? THE FUTURE IS NOW.

Oh man, I don't even remember the manufacturer. I believe Motorola? It was a flip phone that could call and slowly text. I was 16 years old, and only got one then because I started driving.

If it wasn't this one then it looked a whole lot like it! An old motorola with an antenna. At one point I was considered the kid with the best phone in the class, mainly because it could record voice, assign it to a contact, which could then be used to call that contact when you repeated their assigned voice. Like an old clunky "Hey Siri, call grandma"

I think my first phone was probably a Sagem 3020, was so long ago - I can't tell if I can't remember if it had any extra features... or if extra features never existed at the time.
