im just going to jump on this Bandwagon before its too late ok. so yeah.
its a top 7 since i only played like 8 ff games.

And please write any comments you wish have a nice day and ill post the first one here now.

Final Fantasy 1

i only played GBA version so oppinions may be invalid to the other versions.

I think this was a cool game with some fun cusomization. but my biggest problem is: Its a guide game. for half the game you can talk to this dancing girl in cornelia to find out sort of where to go but eventually she stops telling you and your left alone. The fact i didnt know where to go made me overlevel and make the game too easy.

In other aspects. its job system was cool especially when you get to upgrade the classes. There was some secret stuff that became staples in the franchise. E.G. Adamantite and masamune

The story, while almost non existent, is OK the small bit of story that is there is decent i guess but time travel alwasy ends up with plot holes so yeah.

all in all i say this game is pretty good but really hard if you do not have a guide.

Good choice. I like Final Fantasy I. First played it on the PlayStation through Origins. Recently got my hands on the original NES copy that I plan to review somewhere down the line. My original FF list has I rated as my 5th best Final Fantasy game.

Final Fantasy XIII ( trilogy)

Now this is a weird one. i always seem to like this game when i play it however when i move onto other FF games this one is seen as pretty boring. anyways

The story: uh you fight against godly things as you fail to unravel the plot.
then lightnings Sister turns out to be a seeress and saw the future. woops she is now a dead.
Out of nowhere a new god appears Hope is young again and you decide to walk around with basicly no plot and then fight the new god.

these games story is so stupid i dont even care. however one thing that improves s the gameplay. most people seem to say the original FF XIII is just spamming A/X. however if you take time to manually input commands instead of auto batlle the ATB fills up faster. also paradigms are cool.
XIII-2 battle system is pretty much the same as FF XIII but you recruit monsters aswell.
LR XIII is different. you choose schemata ( clothes with your abilities on it) and you choose 3. all 3 have there own ATB gauge and basicly you can have multiple Paradigm classses in one Schemata E.G. sentinel commando.

now the verdict.
these games are underrated but as FF games im not too fond of them however i had a fun time and they sometimes proved to be a challenge

Final Fantasy VIII

Ugh not this game...

ok well this game keeps going up and down my list but ultimately its never too high anyway.

Story: squall meets up with his pals to fight an army. they become special agents tasked with killing the overpowered sorceress Edea. they go on a train and take an involuntary nap. they dream about Laguna and his buddies, Kiros and Ward. while they escape a forest place and have a few pints at the bar. after waking up squall and co. go and meet this girl called rhino er... i mean rinoa who is going to be squalls girlfriend later. they jump over trains and fihgt a zombie guy. eventually after some stuff happen they eventually confornt edea and squall dies. The end. wait no it aint. anyway. they wake up in a prison do stuff blah blah missiles blow up a girls home. squalls home turns into a moving fortress. they go to girls home and find out they lost their memory because they used too much summons. they find out they all so magicly happened to come from the same orphanage except rinoa. they fight edea again win and edea is revealed to be possesed by a madwoman who pronounces "C" to hard. rinoa is possesed but unknown to everyone else of course. they find an invisible village do stuff go into space. fight a woman on steroids go into the future and fight ultimecia. after that weird ending takes place as squall truly dies. that last bit is a theory.

pheww i had to shorten that one.

Gameplay. uh oh a new form of grinding has appeared. now we have to steal enemies magic and put it on ourselves to increase our stats. only problem is the good magic gets best stats but if you use the magic the stats go down. this is not helped when the final bosses can blow all of a certain magic away instantly.
to upgrade weapons you need some materials or something.
and you learn abilities with the summon you have equipped.

Music: great music but i only truly like a few tracks from here but its not bad ost.

verdict: its a game where some people like some people hate. the story is great except the orphanage bit and the characters are alright. junctioning can be very annoying but its not too bad. basiclly just try it if you feel like a change or something.

Final Fantasy II

uh oh i can hear the FF VIII fans shouting at me right now.

anyway. again im looking at this from the GBA version so yeah

Story: one day the people of the kingdom of Fynn were having fish and chips for tea, when suddenly a bunch of soulless slow moving warriors burned down the whole city. 4 young adults escaped but were hunted down by the forces of evil and killed. they woke up to be healed by The White wizard of fynn but only 3 were there, Firion , Maria and Guy/Gus. the princess told us to see scott. scott died then the 3 warriors got to join the rebels and they had to go north and save a bunch of miners. after that the princess ordered them to get the stuff to go into the ancient castle, so they did and with the help of a bald guy they killed the evil turtle. ( i forgot to mention that the empire built an evil Airship called the dreadnought which is why they need to go to the castle to get sunfire to blow it up). upon their escape an evil traitor called borghen blocked their way. they killed him but not before he did his own kefka laugh and summoned a boulder. the bald guy decided he had to hold the boulder, so he did and the others got away but the bald guy died. they went to the castle and found this wimpy dude called gordon who is scotts brother. they kill the fire thing and get the fire and head up to the dreadnought. they fling the fire into the dreadnought and it starts EXPLODE!!!. but a "mysterious" black knight talks to them and runs away. ( in the GBA version he has a portrait that is blacked out but still has the outline. meaning you already know who he is if you have payed attention) when they get back to altair the princess amounts an assualt on Fynn. they win and gordon becomes king with the princess becoming queen. oh yeah and the old king died because of some reasons. after that they go to get some dragoons meet a pirate see all the dead dragoons and wyverns. the last wyvern gives them egg. they place egg in water go home. then they go to mysidia tower to get ultima. our friend The white wizard of fynn. dies sadly. the heroes get ultima and go home again. ( forgot to mention. outside of mysidia tower they get eaten by the leviathan and the pirate girl isnt with them. all the dragoons and other people are there and one joins you called ricardo or something and you get out.) when they go home, they are in fear as almost every town has been destroyed by the cyclone. the heroes go to a mirror and the wyvern who was in the egg comes out and brings you into the cyclone. you fight the emperor and kill him. you hear that the dark knight has taken over. and you decide to go to the castle. when there you are about to fight the dark knight when suddenly the emperor appears telling you he has become the ruler of HELL!. ricardo stays and fights him while the dark knight reveals he is leon ( maria's brother) the 4th person from the start. you escape and ricardo dies. now you go into the jade passage ( the passage to hell) and go to castle pandemonium. you fight the emperor and win.

wow that was longer than the FFVIII one ( but tbh i shortened the FF8 one)

ok well that was the main game but there is a add on version introduced in the gba port. called soul of rebirth or something. basically you go to pandemonium again but this time its in heaven. yes the emperor not only conquered hell but he also conquered heaven aswell. why are you going through here againanyway you may ask. well Scott , the white wizard of fynn, bald guy and ricardo are all dead. so you play as them as you go to heaven and fight. idk i never played this part of the game.

Gameplay. this game is the zelda 2 of the FF games. basiclly you raise stats not by leveling up. you get your stats up depending on what you use. so to get magic up you need to use spells. to get HP up you need to be hit. in the versions prior to the GBA your stats can go down which is bad. now you can manipulate these stats in some versions using glitches or just hitting yourself. which is stupid. however this different level up system isnt actually that bad to me i find it fun and allows me to max out my stats ( at that point of the game ) pretty easily.

verdict: This game has a pretty good story but the gameplay is a thing that people might be afraid of when playing this game. so if you play this game beware of it. i like the story and most of the characters cool. and of course. this villian has to be one of the most powerful ( not when you fight him) of the whole series and in dissidia he also tries to become the god of chaos himself ( i have not played dissidia).

FFII was a good game, but I still find it weird that your fists can do more damage than a smurfing sword, but you played the GBA version which I believe rectified most of the issues that were criticized in the past.

ok well im looking at this from only FFVII not CC or AC or DoC. also i only playd the ps1 version ( though to my understanding nothing changed between this and the PC port)

Story: Goku rip off cloud rides a train to a reactor with MR T ripoff Barret and co.
they fight a bunch of people and set up a bomb to blow the reactor up they escape. cloud goes off on his own to meet soon-to-be-dead Aeris/Aerith. cloud jumps on a train and the the other dudes are on it. they go home to the slums. cloud meets Final fantasy's lara croft. Tifa. they talk and cloud joins theyre little band for more missions. they go and blow up reactor 2 and escape. this time the leader of the goverment is here. a machine is called and when defeated blow cloud into the abyss below. cloud awakens to see the flower girl aeris once again. aeris is being hunted down because she is ancient and must have been wearing some anti aging cream the rest of the world want. they escape and meet aeris mother. cloud decides to go home but aeris teleports and goes with him they talk a bit and see tifa going to become a sex slave. cloud dresses as a girl to save her and they get information that Sector 7, cloud and co's home, is going to be destroyed. they return and try to stop it but fail everyoe dies except cloud tifa aeris and barret. aeris has been captured. the gang head up to the Goverment HQ and meet crazed scientist hojo and talking dog Red XIII. howver i will refer to him by his proper name and call him Nanaki. aeris is saved adn they go away but not before they are captured. when the gang wake up the doors are open. sephiroth has been here. the president is dead and his son is here too. after a fight rufus ( presidents son) escapes. they crew escape the city on funny vehicles. and they meet up at a small town. cloud tells his past. ( i hate this bit). ok for sake of spoilers i will dumb the rest down alot because this is one of the most populour aand really confusing and i will be here for ages.ok.
Cloud and the crew begin chasing sephiroth across the world. they find sephiroth on a ship but it wasnt really because it was jenova. barret begins being depressed as he returns to his hometown. they go to the casino and meet puffer! the lovable cat. puffer joins the team. they chase barret and find that dead people have been killed. they think its barret but are thrown in prison where they kill Dyne who also has a gun. cloud wins chocobo race and they are free. sephiroth chasing has resumed. the crew has arrived at nanaki's home. a whole scene of nanaki's past takes place but is ever spoke of again. they go to nibelheim. the true home of cloud and tifa. an optional scene may take place where a hidden character is uncovered. we will not speak of him. after crossing the mountains the crew find cid who is pissed off cos he didnt get to go into space like that droid from Portal 2. rufus shows up to steal cids plane. but he aint having that and they all escape. after a hunt the crew goes into the temple of ancients. stuff happen a special agent dies. they get the black materia which sumons meteor. they escape go to the ancient city where aerith decided to go because she had to summon Holy. aerith attempts to be like most characters from FF2 Telah and Galuf. but to veterans of the ff series may come off as redundant. she dies. the crew go to the top of a mountain and find sephiroth. cloud goes AWOL giving sephiroth the black materia. rufus and the rest of shinra are there too. they all go home to escape the monsters called "weapons". barrett and tifa are blamed and are about to be executed when suddenly sapphire weapon comes and unintentionaly free's tifa she climbs across the massive cannon and is rescued by all the other members. oh yeah and the weapon is blown up by the cannon they escape and look for cloud. ( they stole an airship aswell btw) cloud is seen but is unwell. tifa stays behind. the rest of the crew are alerted that the shinra are going to blow up meteor with the HUGE materia and cids rocket. they go and get the materia from 2 places and go back to cloud. uh oh ultimate weapon appears and the whole town is destroyed with cloud and tifa falling into the lifestream. another scene takes place where cloud identifies who he really is. they go back and go after more huge materia until they eventually go to cids Rocket. uh oh they are trapped in it. as it launches. cid is happy he got to go into space and they get the last huge materia and go to the escape pod. well done cloud and co. you stopped shinra from saving the world. anyway. the crew attempt to find out what happened in places as they return to the city of ancients and see that aeris summoned holy. upon leaving though a huge diamond weapon appears.firing a barrage of missiles at midgar city. the crew go into midgar while the whole shinra starts to fall apart ( i like this bit) hojo is found above attempting to fire the cannon with huge force to give sephiroth more power. doing so will destroy the city it is said. they beat hojo and they fly to the north cave. below is found the mighty jenova absolute and then finally a confrontation against the one winged angel himself. they kill him and escape.
The end.

man what am i doing this aint a review!.

Gameplay: you fight like normal blah blah. the materia system is new and you can put a variety of coulorful stones on you to make your more powerful. when you do though you can lose stats. if you are like me on my first run you will have like 2000HP on the final boss. if you do not put all the materia on you can have much more. some even increase specific stats. e.g. HP plus.

verdict: the game is good aint the best the story is incomplete with out the rest of the ffVII compilation but i havent played those so yeah. the materia was annoying first time i played but when i got used to it it was fine. its just a meh game overall. nothing terribly bad nothing terribly good. well except one of the best OST's in all of FF. but yes number 5 on my list is FF VII.

i ordered X for £5 couple days back. hoping to play it soon Shauna and Matt make it look awesome. XII i have got but it doesnt work seems like a cool game ( anything with gilgamesh in it has to be good)

Final Fantasy IV

ok well i only played this game once and i kind of rushed through it so i may have forgotten a bit of the story. also this is the hardest FF i played and i played the US snes version so yeah. anyway.

Story: in the world of Earth ( yes it is earth in this game) our "hero", Cecil Harvey is seen returning from his daily pillage. today he stole a water crystal from the mysidians.

Cecil questions the king about his duties and is releived of command of the airship army. his task is to go with his old buddy,Kain Highwind, to deliver mail to the mist village. they leave for the mist village and defeat the mist dragon. the package opens itself and a bunch of Bombs are released. confused the pair see a young girl grieving over her mother. her mother died because cecil and kain killed the dragon. the young girl summons Titan and splits the town in half.

Cecil awakens and spots the girl on the floor. Kain was nowwhere to be found. Cecil goes to the desert town of Kaipo and lets her sleep in a bed. A bunch of junkies enter and want to get the girl too bad cecil aint having it and kills them. the girl awakes tells Cecil that she is Rydia.

Cecil so happens to find his GF rosa sleeping next door. but needs a sand ruby to... you know what i CBA summarizing the story. you want to know go find out yourself. this aint a review. lol ok.

Gameplay. this is the first FF to introduce the now famous ATB gauge. other than that it plays like every other FF gme. oh yeah and you get 5 party member instead of 4 or 3. the only FF to do this ( as much as i have played). but there is no switching between. for example. by the endgame you will have. Rydia, Rosa,Cecil,Edge and Kain. there are other characters such as Yang and Cid. but you cannot use them so you are stuck with the characters you have. removing some strategy.

Verdict: Good FF. Big challenge. Especially on DS version. the story is a little out there toward the end but its nothing like FF VIII. apart from that its your standard FF game.

the last 3 coming up. will FF VI take the crown as so much people would do. or will it be V or IX. find out next time on Dragon ball.... i mean. My top 9.

Final Fantasy VI.

What!?! Final fantasy vi and vii not number 1 on da list!?!?

yes. that is the truth. anyway. This comes from the FFIII snes thing so yeah.

(i shorten story a bit ok)

story: Terra and soldiers attack town for esper. Soldiers die terra knocked out.
Terra awakes and escapes village. town elder tells thief locke to help terra.

they escape and go to the sand castle. they meet king edgar. evil jester Kefka appears. kefka burns down sand castle. the trio escape on chocobo's.

the trio arrive at karate master duncan's house. duncan not there. trio go into mountain. evil karate dude is there. edgars karate bro,sabin, helps them beat evil karate dude.

the team end up at the rebel hideout. terra joins. team get seperated on their way back to the mines. Sabin goes to imperial camp and finds kefka poisoning castle. cyan only survivor. cyan joins. they flee. also shadow appears there.

the trio go to forest. go on ghost train. Sabin suplexes train. they escape. a fight on a waterfall takes place.

the trio meet orphan Gau. gau shows them helmet and they escape underwater.

Locke is in town sneaking past guard. finds general celes. celes betrays empire joins rebels. they escape. they all meet up in the mines.

uh oh kefka attacks. kefka defeated. the team talk to esper. Terra turns into esper. flys away. team look for terra. terra sleeping in old mans house in thief town zozo. team find ramuh. ramuh tells them to save the other espers in the magitek factory. team go to opera house. team get setzer who has airship. they fly to magitek factory. espers saved. celes stays behind. team escape.

terra awakens and rejoins. they go to esper gate. espers released. Emperor pretends to jail kefka. the team go to the magic village. team meet strago and relm. statues of balance found. return to village. kefka appears kills general leo. ( also celes is with you too). emperor takes to the skies with the floating continent. team attack continent. kefka betrays emperor and breaks the balance. WORLD DESTROYED. years later.

kefka is god. celes almost dies but is saved and goes on adventure to reunite members. ( side stories take place while looking for members)

team assualt kefka's tower. battle ensues in a 4 phase battle. kefka is defeated and his tower starts to crumble. the team escape.

the end.

good story when you play it though.

Gameplay: plays like FF IV. however you do a similair thing to FF VIII where you "junction" espers onto your characters. this allows you to gain extra stats upon level up. and it is also how everyone can learn any spell. this game also sports the biggest FF cast of 14! characters ( though some optional) so you have a big choice.

Verdict: first main series FF game i completed all the way through. its one of the easiest games as if you die you keep all your EXP and levels. the story is great ( though i dumbed it down a bit). and the music is some of Uematsu's finest. its a great game to try out if you havent ( though most people on this site have) and it used to be my 2nd favourite. till i realized i liked the next one more.

I have played this game a few times twice on GBA. and i am currently playing through the Snes translation.

it is my Co-Op playthrough of FFV snes. ( to clarify most people dont know this but FF IV V VI and IX all have multi controller functionality. IV is different though as you dont set up which characters they use. as long as a 2nd controler is in they can choose options for any character.) anyway straight to the point.

Story: princess lenna sees her father King tycoon goig to wind shrine. Lenna notices wind stopped. Bartz sees a meteor crashing. Lenna and galuf found at meteorite. Galuf has amnesia :O.

Galuf and Lenna go to wind shrine. Earthquakes happen. Bartz to the rescue. Bartz joins the adventure. Steal ship. Faris appears. Faris joins. and a whole adventure set in motion.

ok yeah im lazy moan at me. anyway i wont be doing story no more its pointless and yeah. ill do Gameplay still though.

Gameplay: This game is a bit different. you only have 4 characters. Bartz,Lenna,Galuf and Faris ( Galuf gets replaced with Krile though).

Everybody is bare and cant use magic. thats when Jobs come in. you use a massive amount of jobs E.G. Black mage White mage Ninja. and you get abilities. so you can use black magic while you are any other class. or white magic or anything!. so much customization it is cool. it also changes the characters appaearance.

Verdict: i like this game because of the customisation and the characters. again the music is great. the bosses are cool. ( especially that easy liquiflame. heh heh :(. ) and Galuf is my 2nd favourite ff character Gilgamesh is in it too and he is awesome. play this game wether you want to or not or i will kill you becuase it is awesome ( jokes i wont kill anyone). anyway if you have been paying attention you will know what my number 1 is. and on EoFF it seems populour so yeah.

Final Fantasy IX

i like this game. it was the first FF i ever seen ( not played) and that was like 13 years ago!. so when i finally play it some scenes come back to me. ( like the blank gets stoned scene) the music is god-tier and the story is pretty good. it has one of the best cast of characters in FF. it is sad though as SE seems to forget about this game i mean we have FF1-8 remade ported whatever, but have we got a single remake port or anything for FF 9? no. it is worse as they even remade FF X and X-2 skipping 9. why they do this i have no idea. anyway the only bad things i can think of are the battles. they are slow and are you may aswell put the battle speed to full as it will play like a standard FF game. this game is pretty difficult but once you learn how to use abilities and grind them up you can beat it with ease. its a great game so i recomend anyone who hasnt completed it to atleast try it out. good for begingers and experts alike.
