Really tough but I went with FF XII. At the moment I have more fond memories with that game, having only somewhat recently played through the International Zodiac Job System version, which I really loved.

I'd have most likely voted IX instead if I had played that more recently.

I rank FFIX just one above XII, so IX. Maybe I would have liked XII more if the world actually felt engaging, but as it stands IX is the clear winner for me.

Like, idk, in theory FFIX is the perfect Final Fantasy title and I recommend it very highly to people but when I think about which ones I play the most and get more enjoyment from, FFIX is not one of them. However, I played FFXII over like a kabillion times!

This was a tough one. These are both in my top 5 or so, and I really hate to not vote FFIX for many reasons (one of which is that I think it'd have a better chance in later rounds against some games I want to see go down), but I have to go with FFXII. Sorry FFIX fans. No offense intended.

I went with XII. While IX was a nice run, I honestly found it rather forgettable and a step back of sorts after VII and VIII; it also feels out of place stuck between VIII and X. It is more like a meta-Final fantasy title as opposed to a proper entry of the main series and while on paper it may sound cool to have this sort of throwback game, I think in the end it just ended up lacking a distinctive voice/identity of it's own...a raison d'etre...so to speak.
