2 probably has a more interesting story but I really loved Jin growing up. I used him all the time. Plus Tekken's story at this point was...well, very hard to grasp. Those flashy FMVs at the end only meant stuff if you had a game manual to tell you why you were doing any of this.

And you know, while 2's OST might very well be better than 3's, 3 had africkin' amazing soundtrack.

NINA WILLIAMS!

I know a lot of people like her T2 theme but Nina was always at her best in 3 for me. Look at that outfit. Listen to that theme. In this game Nina just means so much more business than in any of the others. Everything about her radiates the idea you might run into her downtown and then your life would be over.

LING XIAOYU!

And finally, the man himself.

Jin x Xiaoyu forever. The perfect blend of awesome and awesomely cute.

Anyway, now the ball is rolling, state your opinions and forever be judged by your e-peers.

Tekken 3 was the superior by far. Gon? Boskonovich? Fuck yeah. And Hwoarang's debut, of course.

Also I actually preferred this version of Jin's theme:

Tekken 3 has Tekken Ball and that makes it the best Tekken.

Tekken 3. It would probably also claim the spot of my favorite in the series if it didn't have a distinct lack of Kazuya and Jun, two of my favorite characters to use. Still, Tekken 3's good points put it quite a bit ahead of Tekken 2 for me.

Well...I didn't expect this to be so one sided.

I miss black-haired Anna. Admittedly a young me wasn't staring at her hair all that much...

I never played Tekken 3 so I can't really say which is better than the other.

I much preferred Tekken 3, though Gon was a poor Alex replacement. He did have one of my favorite endings in the series, though. :o

Tekken 2 was amazing and a massive step up from the first one.

Tekken 3 took that momentum and doubled it in how far it improved over Tekken 2. Tekken 3 is still the best in the series as far as advancement over the previous entry and still maintaining that balanced Tekken gameplay and feeling.

Some games in the series have a Beat-'Em-Up as an extra mode, like Tekken 3 and Tekken 6. The fighting game part is still the main thing, though, even in 6.

I'd still throw Tekken 2 on instead for some reason, if I just happened to have my PS1 at the ready under my TV set for mindless beat em up action. :)

Tekken 3 is one of the best games I've ever played. Really looking forward to Tekken 7 this year!
