Media Exchange?

The boyfriend and I are doing a few of these right now. I'm reading a book he recommended me and he's reading a book I recommended him. We're doing the same with a video game once we complete what we have going now.

So I was thinking this might be a fun activity for the forum? Basically you can pick a partner, or several, and do an exchange. Either books, movies, TV shows, video games, whatever else. You just have to make sure it's something the other person has access to or can easily get access to. Also try to be nice about it. Don't recommend something you thought was really bad to be mean and try to pick something the person will be able to tolerate. That doesn't mean give them something exactly to their tastes, because part of the point is to expose them to something new, but if you know they get queasy at blood, maybe don't recommend a gory show or movie.

So would anyone like to try this? There's a few ways we could execute it. Either people themselves can pick partners based on who is interested, or we could put some names in a hat and do a draw. I think it would be nice if we could do communication through this thread so people know what's going on and can give feedback on how they liked/disliked the thing and why.

So feedback welcome and sign ups are welcome. I think it would be a fun project to do!

I think he said something about not having the correct system to play the game I loaned him anymore, so maybe he can tell me what systems he has and I'll trade out that game for one of the games I have on a system he does own.

Then I'll finally finish playing Nier, because it was a good game, I'm just lazy and forgetful.

Then of course we watch the movie, TV show, read the book, play the game, whatever else, and post out thoughts and stuff here, and if people enjoy this enough we can keep going with it.

If you don't know your partners tastes very well then ask questions and whatever, which can be done wither via PM or just right here. But once you decide the media, please post it here for the sake of participation.

Also, there's no hard and fast time limit, just try to make an effort.

(You can also pirate both parts from erogedownload). The versions you buy are initially in Japanese but applying the patch is very simple. I'm behind the times here, apparently. I have a wii that I can play Eternal Darkness on, I just don't have access to my room to play it on. It is very possible I can get to it before the end of the summer though if all goes as planned with my living situation.

Ohh also, I have decided on Dark Cloud 2 for Karifean! I went back to my top games list thread and saw how he said he had some fun with the first, and the second is overall an improvement. It's not the deepest story, but it's still good in a cheesy way, and it's incredibly fun. Hopefully he likes it :D

I have decided on Battletoads & Double Dragon for the Sega Genesis for Scotty. Why Sega Genesis? Because that's the version I grew up with.

Yes, there really was a crossover game between them. That was my introduction to the pair. I always played as the toads. Watch out for Big Blag, Scott.
