Playing through The Witch and the Hundred Knight as made me realize I hate deserts. I hate deserts in all games. They're hot and they're big. And the music alot of time is so boring.

So where do you hate adventuring?

Plains (Flat, usually full of cute critters out to get you)
Forests (Lots of trees and bugs)
Caves (Long, deep and full of Zubats)
Rivers (Wet and pirahna-ey)
Swamps (The humidity!)
Open Ocean (So vast and full of Cthulus)
Underwater (Like caves, but with drowning)
Deserts (It hot and empty)
Volcano (Is it magma or lava)
Abandoned City (Probably because of all the monsters)
Mountains (Here be dragons)
Alternate Dimension (Like going home after 20 years and finding water flowing up)
Hyperdimension (A funny Neptunia refrence)
Inside a Monster (It's a big lady, take a shot of Jeager)
Space (It seems to go on forever. But then you get to the end and the gorilla starts throwin' barrels at you.)

Cities. Not like, poorly-designed lame cities but a well-designed, massive city sprawling with life and culture is just well and truly great to explore for me.

Well, the thread is on LEAST favorite, so cities probably aren't your pick.

I'd probably agree on deserts. Empty and sandy.

Is there anyone who really loves deserts? They're usually awful. Act 2 is the worst Act of every Diablo clone because it's always the desert.

I don't really have a least favorite terrain. I don't give much thought to it.

Dungeons (I'm with krissy, they tend to be terrible) and wasteland (hi, FFXIII) and snowy terrain tend to annoy me most.

Deserts, yeah. Caves CAN be, but they can be made interesting

Well after playing Earthbound where walking in the desert inflicts you with a sunstroke status, you can add me to the hating deserts club. Swamps also look kind of stank.

Whichever area is biggest. It's the one I'll find the most tedious to slog through. I'm not much of a sandbox guy. Also water temples.

Deserts are amongst my least favourites too, along with stereotypical caves with zubats, goblins or orcs.

Castles, swamps and forests are favs. And anything with waterfalls and streams. We don't get those enough.

Underwater stages, maybe Ice stages. Sky stages might be the worst.

Underwater is the worst.

Also, Snow/Icy places are usually pretty annoying.

I saw the title and immediately thought, "Well, desert is far and away my favorite."

._.

If I had to pick a least favorite it would likely be mountains, as they are usually tedious to navigate and don't often have interesting monsters or structures in/to them, a trait often shared to a lesser extent with icy regions. Both also share the distinction of being the only biomes in Minecraft I refuse to build in.

Underwater is the worst.

I'm reminded of the Mario underwater stages with this post. Okay, I have a least favorite terrain now.

Underground caves filled with green acid that eats through metal.
I am not a fan of any underground cave for that matter or dark mine tunnel.
I am fine with everything else.
