Tonight for dinner I'm making Minestrone soup with a spicy twist! It's getting cooler over here so I can't wait to make a hearty pan of soup!

What kind of soup is your favourite?

I like chicken noodle soup, and classic chicken soup! There's also a delicious red thai soup you can get here that is gr8 with some spinach thrown in.

Mmm soup.

inb4; Lol yes, we once had a dumb thread about soup and whether it's a food or a drink. Plz GTFO with bringing it up again, if you do then.... http://img.pandawhale.com/post-30290-Seinfeld-Soup-Nazi-No-Soup-For-Xgaj.gif

Chicken and sweetcorn.
Crab and sweetcorn.
Thai beef noodle.
Cream of tomato.
Minestrone.
Home made chicken soup.

Pretty much all of these can still be really bad sometimes, but when done right they are excellent.

Quite partial to spiced carrot and cauliflower these days but I still have a soft spot for classic Heinz "soups" like "tomato" (MUST have some buttered white sliced bread with it). Yes yes I know, food snobs. I know.

I like stews and milk-based soups the most. I don't much go for tomato based soups D:

I have kind of a sick obsession with soup. It's one of my favorite things in cold seasons or when I'm sick. Pretty much give me all the soups.

SO my list is going to be fairly long.

Tomato Soup (with grilled cheese, duh. I actually like to get the grilled cheese very toasted and cut it into 4ths or maybe even 8ths and put the pieces on top! And I usually make my grilled cheeses with a coupld slices of American (shut up) with a slice of swiss in the middle)
Loaded Baked Potato Soup (I put a dollop of sour cream on top as well as lots of crumbled bacon and cheese!)
Pumpkin Soup

Cracker Barrel had this Green Tomato Soup once and omfg it was so smurfing delicious and it came with a 4 cheese grilled cheese and ahmagahd.

Anywho.

Chicken 'N Dumplins
Caldo de Res (That's one thing I miss about working in the first Mexican restaurant.. The cooks would make a huge pot of it on Sunday mornings before opening for us employees. It's spicy and uses beef shank, halved corn on the cob, chayote, potato, and lots of jalepeno and stuff. Sooooo yummy)
Sopita (Ask Freya about that one. She knows what's up. YOU'RE WELCOME FREYBS!)
Chicken Tinola
Egg Drop (esp mine 'cuz I make it very yummy)
French Onion Soup with a good Gruyere or Swiss on top
My Mommy's Veggie Beef Soup (it's incredible and I love it)
Chicken Noodle
Split Pea with Ham and Potato and Other Shit - I make a mean split pea soup.
Black Bean with lots of Mexican Chorizo and stuff

I'm sure there's a ton more, I just can't think of them :D

I'm including links for Jinx (hah) where I can find them:

As someone who is mostly gluten-free and also vegan, I regularly make white bean and kale (http://anothertreeworldcooking.blogspot.com/2011/02/kale-and-white-bean-soup.html), minestrone (http://veganfamilydinner.blogspot.com/2011/05/spring-vegetable-minestrone.html), red lentil, tom kha (http://www.vegetariantimes.com/recipe/tom-kha-tofu/), spring miso, thai pumpkin (http://minimalistbaker.com/tom-kha-gai-butternut-squash-soup/), and green vegetable (http://veganmiam.com/reviews/oh-she-glows-eat-your-greens-detox-soup) soup. I've got a bunch of small frozen portions in my freezer!

Last year I made Apple and parsnip soup and it was immense!!

Other than that, cream of chicken soup or cream of tomato soup- you can't go wrong with those.

I really like soljanka/solyanka, broccoli and cheese, and thai coconut chicken soup.

I like plenty of others, but those probably top the list.
