shave off all your hair?

A few women have made this their signature look - Sinead O'Connor, Amber Rose, Paula van Oppen... and many stars have also sported it... Karen Gillan, Natalie Portman, and Jessie J shaved it all off for charity!

Would you ever do it?

I don't think I would - I don't know that I would even go pixie! But I must admit it looks really gorgeous and striking!

I always admire the confidence to go short - it's a statement and can look really cute on women! Long hair aint always where it's at!

I don't think I have the looks to pull off a shaved head, honestly.

That's the thing! Hair always grows again! I still don't think i could though... Chin length is as short as I'll go now. I did have a pixie once - I've also never had a shaved bit on the side or underneath - although a shaved underneath is becoming a popular trendy way to thin out thick hair and it looks very cute when the hair is worn in a pony! Maybe I'll just shave under!

I have heard of the shaving for cancer support - which is what Jessie J did! I also know of women who shave their hair off when they get a cancer diagnosis in order to have control of their looks and body.

A group of women all shaved their heads in support of their best friend who had to shave hers because of her chemo - that was very sweet! There's a stigma about women with shaved heads and I actually think it's a beautiful look! :jess:

Oh for a cause would be something more to consider, but just on my own? Not for me xD

I've had moments where I've thought "do you know what, I'm sick of this, I'm gonna shave it all off", but I don't think I ever really would. I don't have the face or bone structure for it.

Plus, from a confidence point of view, I quite like hiding behind my big blonde hair. I'd feel a bit bare and exposed without any. Takes guts!

My sis shaved her hair off (technically, she cut it down to a few mm) to get rid of her dreads and it looks awesome on her. I swear she can pull off any look.

I think shaved can look really cool on girls. And I can say from experience that less hair tends to equal a lot more comfort. So more power to ladies who defy gender norms and do this!

Fury, you should just shave the top & leave the back & sides long.

I might be influenced by whatever ideals we get from the world, but I find women with 9yo boy buzzcuts to look extremely weird.

You can do whatever you want, of course. The weird side-shave haircut that is popular with guys shows that.

I like the look and I agree with all the people saying y'all should wear whatever haircut feels comfortable! I kinda didn't understand the whole phenomenon of undercuts, but they kinda grew on me overtime. Personally, well, I'm a guy, but I still don't think Id look good with hair that short. And no undercuts either - I know a lot of guys do that thing where they part their hair on the side of the head and shave off everything below the line. I just wanna have floofy hair, but I think a lot of people look great with such haircuts.

Absolutely not unless I had to for whatever reason. Pretty sure my head has a lot of dents. I use to jump really high and get stuck in the ceiling a lot as a child...

It's on my bucket list! I always imagined I'd pair such a thing with visiting a silent retreat at a Tibetan monastery for 1-3 months. One day!

My roommate (and her boyfriend) just shaved their heads in support of cancer. She definitely has the bone structure for it and it looks gorgeous on her.

i do not even understand why someone who has the hair growth to make long hair look good would ever shave it off.

if i did, i'd never cut my hair short.

I only really have an interest in it because as Locky said, there's a stigma toward women with shaved heads. I don't necessarily find the style more attractive than women keeping their hair long; it's more the fierceness and courage of the women who choose to defy stereotypes of "ugliness" or "unattractiveness" whatever you want to call it by shaving it that encourages me to like the style. It's a brave thing to do, whether you're doing it in support of disease or just for yourself.

Also, Charlize Theron looks sooo badass in Mad Max. She's killing it.

I probably would not, as I've inherited my family's tendency to grow rather prominent growths on our scalps, it's bad enough even with hair. I will cut my hair short again one day when I can afford to get my hair cut on a monthly basis - pixie cuts are great for daily maintenance but take their toll on the wallet!

Bald chicks are just as hot as chicks with long/short hair. I once watched a porn where a young lady got her head shaved right in the middle of it. It was nice.

Yeah I think I have a pretty dent-y skull too.. It does not look really nice and round like those girls, it sticks out a bit at the back.... :O

Sigourney Weaver warmed me up to the bald look in Alien 3. My mom tends to be against haircuts for girls and will only ever get hers trimmed. If I ever came home with a shaved head she'd freak. I tried shaving it all off during a rebellious streak but my electric shaver can't cut for trout. She once tried to dissuade me by saying women don't like bald headed guys. Riiiight, like I would choose to shave my head for women.

Fuck no.

I mean ... If my hair were down past my ass and in good shape, I'd defo have it cut to maybe just below my shoulder blades to be donated to Locks of Love or something.

But overall, my hair is the one thing I get complimented most on... Or well. It is down South. Here in NYC, people notice my accent pretty much everywhere I go and practically lose their shit over it.

Anywho.

My hair is my pride and joy. It's the one thing I'm always 100% confident about. I get it from my paternal grandmother and I'm the only redhead in my immediate family. And my dad and boyfriend are pretty much obsessed with it and they would murder me dead if I were to go bald.

Part of me wants to and part of me knows I have a dent on top of my head and that it would probably grow back stupid and ugly.

It is a struggle.
