#VOTE Best Armor!

Ok so I narrowed it down to some end game equipment. Out of the choices which do you like best?

For general purposes, the Mystile. Although if I really want to turtle up, nothing tops the Ziedrich.

Anyways I love Mystile I also like the effects of the male/woman armors Escort and Minerva better. They absorb magic so that is 3 less things I have to worry about. So I voted for them. Mystile is best all around but has no special effects.

I would consider extreme evasion and magic evasion to be a special effect.

I never use Mystile. What makes it so special? Is it the mag def% ?

I'd say it's the Def% and MDef%, giving you a stupidly high evade chance while also increasing your own accuracy at the same time. Plus it has 6 linked slots which is pretty damn good.

IMO actual Defense makes way too little of a difference in this game. Until you use Dragon Force or Hero Drinks of course which is just ridiculously overpowered.

Seeing how Magic Evasion is glitched in old versions the usefulness of some armor is debatable. If we consider an unglitched version, not so much.

As far as I know, Magic Evasion works just fine in FF VII, it's Magic Defense which was glitched. Magic Evasion was glitched in the original FF VI if I recall correctly.

Though true enough, the bug does make some armors very weak. For instance the Wizard Bracelet, despite having eight linked slots, ended up having basically no defense whatsoever.

Although given the (512-Def)/512 it wasn't even that big of a deal...

Magic Evasion worked just fine in FF6, the bug was that physical evasion used the magic evasion stat and thus physical evasion did nothing while magic evasion did everything.

I meant Magic Defense. For some reason I confused the terms. Probably because we've mentioned stuff that is used to evade.

Kinda funny because once some guy asked a question about exactly this stat, when he wanted to hear it was glitched. And even funnier, he did not know it was MDef and asked for Def instead.
