So I haven't done a Let's Play in a while and I like doing them. So I picked up a cheap and silly steam game and decided this might be fun to LP! It shouldn't be very long. I haven't played very far though so I might fail
Object of the game:
Recruit at least 3 people to the Cherry Tree High Comedy Club! You can recruit up to 6, but I'm not experienced enough with the game to go for that just yet.
Note:
There is the regular version and the westernization. The westernization is the same game, but the Japanese names are changed and so are a few references. For example, main character Mairu becomes Miley. I'm playing the regular version and not the westernized version.
Let's start with our intro!
We meet Mairu and her friend, who has to wipe ketchup off of our heroine's face.
64062
Mairu has something specific to talk about
64063
64064
It is indeed! But apparently things did not go so great. Mairu and her old friend/rival apparently got in to a fight. She says they played a lot of pranks on each other as kids.
So we are treated to a flashback where Mairu goes to see her old friend/rival, who is named Chitose. Mairu decides to call her Chi Chi, a name that doesn't fly
64065
After a bit of bickering, we get to the core of the issue
64066
Mairu tells legend of a comedy duet group from the high school back in the day. Our friend Mairu likes comedy, if that wasn't evident from her hair style
64067
64068
Chichi asks if her and Hoemi are indeed the two only members. "DUH" said Mairu. You only need two people for a duo! And while her math skills are up to snuff, nothing else is
64069
Without being an official club, we don't get funding or a super cool club meeting room
64070
For reference, it's March 22nd. Deadline is May 1st. This is already not promising
64071
Chichi wishes us a sarcastic good luck
Back at the restaurant, Mairu fusses about Chichi being underhanded. Hoemi disagrees
64072
64073
64074
I like Hoemi :flirt:
64075
No pressure or anything
So wait, do they like meet during the summer and stuff then? Because the school year is almost over and then she graduates
So now we have to try and recruit 3 of the possible 6 people who can join. It's like a friend dating sim. We do this by making conversation and stuff with them, hopefully about stuff they like.
64076
This shows our knowledge level, which will determine how many points we get during the conversations. We can up this skill by reading magazines, watching TV, or going to certain areas like the movie theater or art exhibit.
While exploring town, we meet shrine maiden Kusuko. Mairu comments on how it's no wonder she has thighs like Chun-Li when she has to climb so many steps to the shrine everyday. Kusuko heard every word, but asks us how the club is going and gives us some encouragement
64077
She's also big on the proverbs
64078
From now on, we can work here in the afternoons for some spending cash, which can be used to purchase things like magazines or food to reduce our tired level
Let's see if she has any more words of wisdom before we start our part time job
64079
Fair enough
64080
And we made 1000 of the monies!
The day is split in to 3 sections, morning, afternoon, and evening. Certain actions will pass time to push it towards the next one. So by cleaning, it is now evening. In the evenings we can do homework, save, rest up, read magazines we've purchased, watch TV, or make jewelry for a bit of extra spending money
So since it's evening, we head back home for dinner
64081
64082
Kaoruko is our dorm manager lady. She berates Mairu for not getting a stable job and calls her a moocher
Dinner is enjoyed by all
64083
Hoemi is Mairu's roomate, in case that wasn't clear
64084
So Hoemi decides we should try to recruit new students
64085
Bold faced lie
64086
Oh yes, I have 4 homeworks to do at some point. I'm guessing during spring break. And yes, that takes up time. I also have a fatigue level to keep track of.
Mairu tells Hoemi she doesn't know how to live unless she puts off homework at the last minute. Darn Hoemi, being all responsible :argh:

And with that, we're going to save and do homework. Next time we get to meet some of our targets for recruitment!
