I don't have a favorite since I never read any of the Captain Marvel comics. Only Captain Marvel I know is the DC version before he became Shazam. I know Carol Danvers from her time as Ms. Marvel.

I'm actually curious which version you guys would recommend for a new comer?

The new Ms. Marvel comics are a good place to start, actually. :)

Carol Danvers for me. I'm really looking forward to her cinematic debut in a few years here. :monster:

That's cool.

I checked out Captain Marvel 2, Down at the library a few days back. Carol Danvers teams up with Monica Rambeau in this one. I look forward to reading it after I finish off my Supergirl comics. Only have one left to read out of those.
