Square Enix has announced that popular demo Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae will receive an updated Version 2. This second version is expected to have improvements made integrated into the original demo to make a more seamless playing experience.

Square Enix gathered feedback from Final Fantasy fans about the Episode Duscae demo during a livestream last month. Director Hajime Tabata touched upon all the improvements that they intended to add to version 2.0. This included tweaks to the battle system, camera, and more.

Not much more info is available about Episode Duscae besides the original announcement tweet but it is projected for a June release.

Did you miss out on the original Episode Duscae? Will you be looking forward to 2.0?

Does that mean I'll be able to play it if I missed out on Episode Duscae version 1?

I'm assuming so! They haven't released any more info yet but I'd believe it'll be available to people in another capacity. They don't have any more games coming out so I'm assuming it'll just be for everyone.

Assuming they are sticking with what they said during the last livestream thing, this update will only be available to those who have the original demo. Their original plan was to just do a patch/update for the first Episode Duscae demo to show everyone who played it before how it improved. I imagine there will be some sort of demo closer to release for everyone, but I don't think this one is going to fill that purpose.

Are they really beta testing the next single player FF game?

Practically, yeah. I guess they can't afford to get it wrong this time. It would be fatal.

Ironically, the most likely thing to fuck up ff15 is asking final fantasy fans for advice on game mechanics

Sad to see 9 years later they are not confident in their product, they should be more confident :<! Believe square, BELIEVE!!!!

The more something costs, the fewer risks you can afford to take. That's why it's only the low budget games that are truly unique these days. FF15 is about as far from low budget as you could possibly get.
