Time to tackle that Steam backlog...

So I've installed some games from my Steam account, after being reminded I had one with some games, so which should I play first?

Portal or Bastion, I say. I personally don't like the gameplay of Bastion, but I've heard that tons of other people do.

Honestly every single one of these games is solid and worth a playthrough (yes, even Braid), but Deus Ex is the best one on the list.

I have a few more, but these to me were all the high profile "should have played them back when they were new" titles. Though I will admit I probably only have maybe seven more games on my Steam Account. I tend to ignore Steam so I don't blow all my money on increasing my overwhelming backlog.

I have played a little bit of Portal, but was stuck playing in the same room my friends GF was in and she ADORES this game. So she ended up backseat playing the game for me, and I enjoy puzzle games too much to have the puzzles solved for me, so I stopped playing and never finished it.

KOTOR if you want to invest in something. Portal if you want something short and sweet. Both will allow you to put a worthy notch on your gaming belt.

Deus Ex.

KotOR is a good game but I always felt like it was a tiny bit overrated. Like, I know that's blasphemy to say, but while it's very good it never blew me away the way Deus Ex/Morrowind/et al did.

I'm probably going to do Deus Ex next because it's rare to find highly rated cyberpunk in games and I feel it may be safe to say it will be shorter than KotOR. I'm not exactly in the mood to play a really long game at the moment.

Deus Ex is actually really long. One of the longer games I've played and definitely longer than KotOR unless you've played it before and know what you're doing.

It's common among the Deus Ex fanbase to feel that the first game "should've" been split into two.

Playing DX is absolutely a necessity, but yeah it is in no way a short game. Don't let that put you off, it won't feel long because it's gripping and fascinating and amazing. Just don't be tricked by the FPS elements. :p
