So, who would you rather was brought back from the dead through Red God voodoo?
Seeing as no major character has been resurrected yet, and it's been confirmed in the show that resurrection is possible - as long as your head hasn't been chopped off (sorry, Ned) - it's bound to happen sooner or later. Probably sooner, what with this new spate of character deaths.
My guess is that they'll only use it once with the major characters though, in order to stop death from being devalued.
So, which one recently deceased character (whose head was still intact) most deserves a resurrection?
It has to be a recent death (i.e. this season). I'm pretty sure a completely rotted body couldn't be resurrected. So, I'm afraid Lady Stoneheart is out. However, I'm assuming that heavily damaged or mutilated bodies are fine for resurrection, as long as the head is still attached.
Stannis is included in the poll, despite the fact that it looked like Brienne was going to chop off his head. However, we didn't see this happen. So, his head COULD still be attached to his body (it's even possible he might still be alive, although I don't think it likely).
Also, I'm assuming that Sansa and Theon jumped into a snowdrift, Frozen style, and did NOT commit joint suicide.
EDIT: Sorry for messing up the poll title!

I object to this poll and cast my vote for Unsulled #3,672 who died in the battle against the Sons of the Harpy. RIP.

I selected the north remembers lady but I just remembered she was flayed and that would be a bitch if she was brought back flayed. Sorry North remembers old lady
Dammit, I forgot to click Myrcella's box.
Jon, Myrcella, Ser Barristan, and to add to that: Shireen.
Stannis can stay dead.

Shireen can't come back.
I really wish she could, but there's nothing left of her but ash.

Can I save my resurrection for Bronn in case he ever dies!? :p

Not in poll: Grenn, Pyp, Shireen.
In poll: Jon.
I like some of the other characters but I just feel more notably that the above characters are more awesome than they are. Just.
Shireen can't come back.

Oh, oh, so the great and powerful Lord of Light can't make flesh out of ash, huh? I knew he was a bum :smug:

Was it not established in the show that the head has to be attached to the body, and that the body can't be a skeleton or something?
I'm not making this up, am I?

Your only stipulation was no beheading and being in this season. Nothing about being a spooky scary skeleton.
Shireen was not beheaded! Nor is it clear whether she burned to ash (not to my recollection, at least) or whether we have a charred body buried somewhere. A charred body fits your rules (well, rule) so...
Shireen.

Oh, season five only. I guess that rules out Pyp and Grenn. ;_;

Why would a ritual burning stop with a charred body?
Considering that the person's body and soul is being offered up to the fire god, why would you stop short of offering the entire body, i.e by reducing the body to ash?
Basically, Shireen isn't coming back, no matter how much we all want her to.

Why would Brienne not behead Stannis? This is an entirely hypothetical thread in which nobody will ever be happy. You yourself are making assumptions based on what we see on camera - we don't see Stannis beheaded therefore he is still in tact. I am making the assumption that Shireen was not burned to ash because we don't see it.
None of these characters are coming back, so really, what's your point? :p

But I think at least one character (probably Jon) probably will.
It doesn't make sense to introduce resurrection if you're not going to use it for a main character at least once.

Catelyn Stark*cough*
She hasn't been brought back as Lady Stoneheart in the TV series.
At this point, her body would be WAY too rotted to resurrect.
okay yeah, but my point is that one main characters HAS been

But, in the TV series she hasn't.
Therefore, there's a spare resurrection which could be used to bring back a character who died in this season.
Hence this thread.

Hell if I can remember. I can barely remember all that happened in the earlier seasons.

Yeah, but, they introduced resurrection back in season 2? 3? They might have had the intention of bringing her back then decided against it. Resurrection hasn't been mentioned since then, Beric Dondarrion is all but forgotten...so I think it's just as logical to say that they DID introduce resurrection to bring back a main character and then decided against it.

THE MOUNTAIN
For what it's worth, I do think Melisandre is going to resurrect Jon Snow.

THE MOUNTAIN
He was never completely dead, I don't think. Just gravely, gravely wounded.
Plus, he's been brought back by science, not magic. So, even if he were dead, he doesn't use up the resurrection.

Qyburn seem to be a Frankenstein analogue, so I don't think he used magic, or at least not just magic.

Why would Brienne not behead Stannis?
She could believe she can use Stannis as a trade for Sansa, or that he could help her get Sansa out somehow or... something. I don't think this is what happened but that is the only theory I can come up with.

I think that Qyburn and the reanimated Mountain are meant to be an allegory for how the European medieval world thought about medical advancement: something strange, to be feared, and possibly aligned to dark, supernatural forces.
