I talked to myself and realised I was not a very good listener.

I do sometimes, yeah. It's not always when I'm alone either - sometimes I'll think out loud at work when I'm tasking.

Only if I've done something stupid and am cursing myself for it.

Rarely but it does happen. Usually if I need to remember something while doing something else. So if I'm like

I need to remember to call this person at 555-555-5555 and then I'm also reading or writing, I'll focus on my reading or writing (or whatever else I'm doing), and I'll repeat "Persons name at 555-555-5555" over and over again out loud. It helps me remember the thing while also being able to focus on something else

Like shorty said. Usually when I've done something stupid I start doing that.

Yes I do, you all know it's not a bad thing and it has good benefits.

By myself, when others are around, whatever. I mostly talk to the projects I have at work.

It's the old joke, talking to myself is the only way to have an intelligent, enlightening conversation. :roll2

Yep, sometimes. Most of my dialogue to myself is internal, but then my computer smurfs up so I have to let it know how disgruntled I am because of course it can hear me.

I'm constantly running myself through imaginary conversations and scenarios.

I talk to myself when I'm alone. Not all the time but on occasion and a lot of times when I smoke. Then there's the times I accidentally talk to myself when I'm not so alone like today when I'm leaving the corner store into my car, I was just talking to myself and someone was looking at me like "What the hell...".

To be honest, I think talking to oneself is just another one of those things that's perfectly natural but has a strange stigma to it.

Rarely. I talk to my cat daily, though.

I need to remember to call this person at 555-555-5555 (tel:555-555-5555)

That number is so made up.

Not all the time, but pretty often. I've said this before on this forum, but talking out loud helps me focus on a task. This is effective at work because no one really cares or can even hear me because it is usually too loud in there to hear me talk at a normal volume.

Out of nervous habit. Especially if I'm prepping to talk to someone or feel like I'm in the wrong and must explain myself.

If I'm at work and I'm bored or overwhelmed and list characters from Survivor or Big Brother that fit a criteria.

When I was living alone and had a long weekend where I wasn't doing anything in particular I'd find myself talking to myself after a while. Never been so glad to go to work on a Tuesday morning.

I certainly did!

Though he recognised my voice and said "Stop calling here you sick pervert. For the last time, I don't want to buy any of your vibrating butt plugs."

The real question is why my GF had the Comissioner's line.

Apparently she's a superhero.

I guess that explains the thigh-high boots and leather leotard in the hall closet. I kept waiting for them to show up on date nights. :(

Most of the time I merely do this to curse myself for doing something stupid and/or failing yet again. I've never held an entire conversation with myself, but there have been plenty of occasions where I'm thinking out loud or questioning if I remembered something.

Of course. Who else will listen but me? :(
