View Full Version : The opening scene is SO flawed (X-2)

WHY DOES LE BLANC TAKE ON YUNA'S PHYSICAL FORM?

Dress Spheres are preserved memories of people who wore said garment years ago, but they don't actually change physical form (except for the unique special garments for YRP).

And even if it DID change your physical form then surely Le Blanc would have looked like Lenne?

FLAWED.

I always wondered about that personally, since it happens once and they never bring it up again.

They just wanted Yuna to shake her booty.

Glad I'm not the only one!

Did SE just expect us to overlook the whole thing? xD

Of course they do.

The game is stupid and knows it.

She stole the entire garment grid, that's why.

She stole the entire garment grid, that's why.

That would mean YRP should take on the form of whomever was the previous owner of their Garment Grids.

It really doesn't make sense. But it doesn't have to, IMO :p

For all we know, they might be custom made for each person, or at least modified.

Although what I really think happened is that she became similar enough to pass for yuna, but the developers didn't bother with making another 3d model that looked like almost-yuna just for a single video.

fat_moogle

She became similar enough to pass as Yuna because they just used Yuna's model. They even introduce her as Yuna with her name on screen. Even though it was actually Le Blanc at the time.

Fynn

It's a stupid plot hole, no matter how you look at it.

And really, so is the whole game. Which is why I love it.

Faux Yuna just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Better question would be why she did that concert in the first place. There was no actual purpose.

Fynn
07-11-2015, 06:37 PM
To be fair, they introduce her as "Yuna?"

Ayen

There was a question mark?

All these years spent watching that opening for scientific purposes, and I never noticed.

I thought the canon answer was because she just wanted to have fun.

Seriously, Leblanc is like 5

That whole villain dynamic is Final Fantasy's version of Team Rocket. I was just waiting for them to say, "Prepare for trouble!"

"And make it double."

Yeah. It's a shame that we as players didn't get some cut of her concert takings :D

Now I'm gutted that Team Rocket weren't in this game :(

Very well spotted. Never noticed that!

Still doesnt explain why she looks like Yuna though :p

Mirage

I think it's because they didn't want to spend time making a high-res model of someone who looked like a mix of leblanc and yuna, and just reused the existing yuna model.

Life is full of mysteries.

I for one wish to examine the plotholes and inconsistencies with Cloud crossdressing. Now he's very pretty in Advent Children but in FFVII Cloud seemed pretty masculine so I have no idea how anyone was fooled. The goons you get stuck with if you don't "win" even comment on how ripped he is.

And what was up with Zell's hoverboard? It was never seen again.

I did notice the question mark! And yeah I always wondered about this but I figured it was for drama sake and the whole game doesn't take itself the most seriously so I didn't care so much

Later on Yuna assumes the look of Lenne, iirc. Maybe there's ~something~ going on. Nothing that ever gets an explanation, of course.

It's not explained, but I don't care because I'm busying listening to cheesy J-pop and seeing Rikku and Paine kick the crap out of guards.

1000 Words is no doubt a better song but real Emotion is danceable. We can all dance and be ashamed of ourselves when we start X-2 and that is really what the game is about.

I always wanted to get, like, the album those songs are. The English versions I mea. They actually are on CDs released by the....German I think it was English vocalist. Japan loves female European pop singers.
