Well we have a tentative release window for FFXV in the future have a demo to give us a taste of the gameplay and so the fanbase has now reached the traditional point of being disappointed without playing the game because of various reasons before playing it, so let's hit the next tradition which is imagining what the next FF title is going to be like. What do you want to see in FFXVI?

I would like them to get back to their roots, a large world map with free exploration. Also I'm not a fan of guns in a RPG. Enemies or not, it takes the "Fantasy" away. After my morning coffee I'll be able to come up with more most likely.

Yeah, I can kinda see it coming back to a more traditional fantasy setting again. Maybe a job system even?

I'd be satisfied with a fantasy setting but I'd like a more complex character advancement system a la FFXII or FFVII. A job system would be nice but what I really want is a larger cast of playable characters. Like, 7 or more since we haven't had a cast that large since FFX. Having more characters adds so much to the game since there's a greater chance to find characters you gravitate to, not to mention the greater tactical depth.

A timely release

A turn based RPG where I can directly control all my characters, and a release before 2020.

I won't hold my breath on either account.

A development time of less than 5 years, job system, and full control over each character member, should I wish it.

No voice acting. This is seriously the biggest killer for me in the modern FF games. I HATE the voice acting to the point where I can't play the games.

You should probably not count on playing FF16 then. Realistically, that's like wishing for a 2D game.

Huge cities, lots of stuff to explore and do in the outer world, and a combat system that gives me lots of control over each party member.

I would very much like to see a Final Fantasy 9-2. Not literally. But just another attempt to go back to the roots and capture the essence of what the series was about. So knights and castles, turn based battles, character-driven story-telling.
They seem to constantly drift away from that and I wish they'd use a different IP to do so. The classic FF formula, as seen most notably between FF4-FF10, just worked. It didn't need to be changed.

Good point

Though FFXII has some really good voice acting.

So in the end you disagree? :p

I'm open to anything, really.

I'm not married to any particular gameplay system, setting or story-telling style. I actually like that FF has explored and experimented with different gameplay systems and settings over the years.

I'd be all up for something new and unexpected.
