[DS] sans White Mage

I think I am going to do another playthrough, miking up from my regular 'cast of characters'. One thing that I have never done without is a White Mage. I've read in a few places that ' you don't really need a while mage' because you can pick up the slack in other ways.

What do you guys think? Any builds you guys like that avoid the white mage?

Bard and Scholar are pretty decent healers. Scholars have Item Lore innate ability for good single healing and Bards get a group healing ability with one of their harps. They also get a harp that does a full party protect and one for haste as well. The Evoker also gets a good healing ability with the Ifrit white summon, though it's random.

Of course there is always the Red Mage with a Knight's support.
