In just a couple of weeks, too.

The PC version of Final Fantasy V will feature characters and graphics "recreated" by character designer Kazuko Shibuya, updated controls and an optimized "active-time battle system," plus new content including an optional boss named Enuo created by designer Tetsuya Nomura and The Sealed Temple, a dungeon that originally appeared in the 2006 version of Final Fantasy 5 for the Game Boy Advance. Naturally, there will also be Steam trading cards and achievements to collect as well.

When I was real drunk one time I thought of this weird stand up bit where revamped meant that a vampire was replying to an email.

Uh..anyway, looks pretty good. I probably won't get it.

So, just like with FFIV, it's essentially the iOS version? Cool :)

Sigh...

I don't think I have liked the sprites in a SE remake since FF:Origins.

I don't get why people hate them. They're done by Kazuko Shibuya - she's responsible for all the original sprites. And I think the new ones are very much done in that spirit.

It seems cool. However im wondering if its worth money when you can get other versions for free (albeit somewhat illegaly)

Neat.

Time to buy up some copies for prizes for EoFF events and then proceed to do nothing!

Yes, yes and oh yes ! So going to get this ! I'm okay with it being the IOS version, though the GBA version will always be my personal fave, though the IOS version is not awful in any means. ( unlike the IOS version of Final Fantasy VI whereabouts everybody looks so tacky )

Hey, FFVI iOS was perfectly brilliant :colbert:

They say the requirements are gonna be really lightweight.

They say that about a lot of things and then my computer freezes up anyway :stare:

You can use that argument about everything ever.

Besides, it's not like steam games aren't possible to pirate.

And it's not somewhat illegal. It is illegal.

I thought emulation wasnt illegal if you own the proper game/console.
And pirating? Well yeah thats illegal. But i was meaning emulation sorry i shouldve said

I just didn't like the colours and shading of most of the characters ? They just felt too bright and tacky. With FFV everything just feels more clear and solid and the colours match the environment more smoothly.

It is, unless you dump the ROM from the cartridge yourself. Emulation isn't illegal in most countries. Acquiring the game usually is.

Why would you make the "for free" argument at all when you have a legal copy of the game? Did you get it as a gift?

I don't think you actually need to rip the rom yourself. If you have the game, you're entitled to possess the rom.

You possess the ROM. It's the "read only memory" on your cartridge. You're allowed to copy it for private purposes in some countries, but that doesn't mean you're allowed to download it.

The beloved wacky installment in the SNES trilogy is making its way to PCs in less than two weeks via Steam! Freshly announced by Square Enix, the Steam version of FFV is a port of the iOS version released earlier, meaning it will have all the extra features added in the GBA release (more jobs, an extra dungeon), as well as enhanced graphics, with sprites redrawn by Kazuko Shibuya - series veteran responsible for creating character sprites throughout the whole series.

On top of that, the game is supposed to have very low system requirements, which means it will be accessible to more players. Furthermore, developers promise FFV will be optimized for peak PC performance.

It's called journalism ;)

Game journalism isn't a real job. Get a proper job you bum. You can come here and paint my house!

Ah, but I can be an editor for free :smug:

You'd have to pay me for the walls, though. And you'd still come here and steal all the gołąbki, because all you have is lutefisk!

Mirage

lutefisk is only eaten once a year, and only by old people! really old people!

Cool.

I see they went w/ Butz instead of Bartz.

I hope they make the four "new" jobs available a little earlier than they were in the GBA edition. Either way, glad to see them in the game.

I'm definately going to get it since my copy of FF V Advanced is bugged (it deletes all my save data at random :( ). I do hope we can still rename Butz to Bartz, though.

Fynn
09-15-2015, 10:08 AM
Why wouldn't we? You could name him in every version so far.

You never know with SE.

EDIT: Got the game, asked for a refund 20 min later, got my refund, game gone. Shitty port is shitty.
