Which fast food fries do you like the most? Out of all of them, I'd have to go w/ McDonald's.

Maccy D's. To be fair, most of these are in another continent to me. That said, I have had most of them at least once!

I must admit, I've only heard of the top three of these. Out of those, Mcdonald's.

They're not great chips, though. Too thin and too much salt for my liking.

Some of these places are regional in the US as well. A few aren't in my area.

I know McDs & BK are international, I wasn't sure about any of the others.

I like McDs fries because they're thin & salty.

Edit: I should say my real favorite fries are from Portillo's.

McDonald's for the win.

unpopular opinion : the Mc D's chips taste awful and horrible. I like my chips thicker and more potato-y. We don't have much of those takeouts over here, so I just voted for Burger King even though I haven't been there in years ? I should've went for other, but it's a place I know ? And it's not Mc D's and those terrible french fries so it's good enough ? From memory Burger King's chips are kinda the same as Mc D's, but I don't remember hating them so much ? So yeah, it will do, it will do.

We do have a Wendy's though it sells milkshakes and ice cream, so I don't think it's the same place somehow.

None. I prefer not to eat fast food period and when I do, I'm not getting french fries. I'd rather eat some real food.

I voted Burger King fries too. If you hold a BK fry horizontal, it will stay in that position. If you hold a McD's fry horizontal, it will droop down pathetically. Plus, McD's put far too much salt on them.

Anyone who hasn't been to a BK recently should give their fries a try. They are far superior.

I've never actually had a meal at Five Guys. Are they good?

When I'm in Olsztyn, I always eat Baron's french fries - they're cheap and way better than McDonald's. :P

*Youtubes Five Guys

The fries do look nicer than Mc Ds, the burgers look gross though.

You can choose whatever you want to be put into the burgers so it's impossible for them to be gross! I saw grilled mushrooms on the list of toppings and had never had mushrooms on a burger before or had even considered this. It was fucking great.

Eaten at both McDonalds and Burger King, and I honestly prefer McDonalds' fries and Burger King's hamburgers.

Burger King because sometimes I can get a small one for $1

They opened a Five Guys in Cardiff a few months ago to ridiculous levels of hype from hipster teenagers. I decided to visit after the bedlam had died down a bit and here is my review:

The fries are smurfing awful and cost £4 are you real
The burgers are incredible
But they're not worth the £8-9 pricetag, that is absolute daylight robbery
The drinks machine is cool
No wonder you have to take out another mortgage every time you eat there when they have about 20 people working behind the counter
I struggle to believe storing bags of peanuts randomly all over the place complies with Environmental Health regulations
Grape flavoured Sprite exists?
>2015
>Paying eight quid for a burger and not getting the fries for free

I agree with all of that although I'll add you do get a fuckton of fries. I asked for regular and couldn't finish them where I can finish large fries anywhere else.

I can agree with 99% of this, except that the burgers themselves are very average considering the price and constant hype. I don't even know why new burger places keep opening in Cardiff, if you want the best you go to The Grazing Shed.

Also, what self respecting hipster goes to a multinational burger chain? Again, The Grazing Shed is where hipsters should go...or if they want to eat in the freezing cold and listen to Jailhouse Rock over and over again then Got Beef.

Anyway, on topic I'd have to agree with the general McDonalds consensus, and there's no such thing as too much salt on your chips!

Anything USA is cool for hipsters, I thought. That's why I keep meeting people who pretend to be die hard NFL fans. I have not been to The Grazing Shed, but I have indeed heard great things. If it is as 'trendy' as you say it is though, I am reluctant because the last time I went to a 'trendy' place in Cardiff was The Depot - I went because I'd heard they had a interesting supply of beers I'd not heard of but was met with a dense mass of bearded sanctimonious yuppies paying £7.50 for 'street food' burgers, and a grand total of two bland IPAs that may as well have been lager. All it was missing was the Banksy stencils on the walls and somebody asking me to join the Green Party.

If it was a year ago I would have told you to maybe avoid it for that reason, but these days it seems to be filled with a decent crowd (too mainstream for hipsters now maybe? They have opened another one on St Mary Street, maybe that makes them too corporate). It's definitely worth trying at least once. Good fries too, to keep on topic.

Looking at pictures of The Depot I'm honestly surprised you even went judging from your aversion of hipsters. Thanks for the heads up though, I'll make a mental note to avoid.

Out of those Arby's. In-and-Out and I think Five Guys is West Coast only so I haven't had those.

In general I'd have to go with Checkers. Those fries were that golden crispy brown color and had that snap to them. They're also seasoned well.

Of the main chains, Arby's or Burger King.

5 Guys does some pretty good fries. They aren't quite as over-priced here, but they're still pretty expensive, so we don't go all that often. Still, anyone who orders anything other than a small fry at 5 Guys hasn't eaten there before. They fill up the fry container, and then put another scoop in the bag just for the hell of it. Why would you need a medium or large? I can't even finish a small if I share it with Pumpkin.

I just did the math, a 5 Guys small fry (here anyway) is 2.87. So around 1.86 pounds according to doctor google. Expensive for a small fry, but considering it feeds two, it's fair.

In reality it's like £3 here for 5 guys small fries.

To be fair sharky, it is brand new here and I asked for medium assuming it'd be the same as other places. :shobon: I know better in future now.

Oh yeah, I know. We all fell for it the first time. Just remember it's 'Mercuh serving sizes.

Still, $4.50 for a small fry is troutty. Have fun with your big city prices, I'll stay out here in the sticks. Fighting off the occasional bear or klan member is probably still worth it.

I can't answer this poll until I have had White Castle.

However, I can say that of the others, In-N-Out and Arby's are p great. Everything about Five Guys is overrated. And why isn't Smashburger on this poll? Smashburger's Smash Fries are the best fucking fries in the world.

Mary Browns chicken in Canada has deep fried thick cut wedges that are to die for. After that Dairy Queen has the best fries.

McDonalds :jess: without a doubt. I like that they're so bad. I wish I'd tried some of the american fast food when I was over there but the jetlag made me not want to eat at all.

I ate at Sbarro actually! :jess: that was inside our hotel, to UK people; THE SLICE OF PIZZA WAS THE SIZE OF MY FACE.

I also asked a security guard (in the hotel/casino) where I could find a Tesco Meal Deal sandwich from XD I was hungover okay, and do you know where he told me to go? Subway...

As far as chain pizza places, sbarro is pretty good.

I wanted to vote other and say carne asada fries, but I felt like that was cheating a bit since that's the meal itself. I went with McDonald's instead for just fries.

None. I prefer not to eat fast food period and when I do, I'm not getting french fries. I'd rather eat some real food.

I didn't realize potatoes were fake food now.
