I don't - I hate the feeling. But I guess some people like it? How about you?

Yes. A lot. So much so that people tell me to stop. So much so that I'm noticing negative effects that are most likely tied to it. But I still don't stop doing it. It's that kind of habit.

Yes, endlessly! Also there's no negative effect to cracking knuckles, the arthritis thing was just a way to get kids to stop doing it!

No.

I'm not so sure about that. My left hand pinky is the finger I crack the most by far and it has both grown slightly hideous visually, and also less flexibly bendable. It's possible that it's just a coincidence, but...

I stretch them and sometimes popping occurs as a rseult of that

I don't think any of you could crack this guy, tbh.

Not my knuckles too often but I often pop my back. I just have to twist and POP POP POP!

No. And for the love of Christ the sound is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

God yes, I crack them like 10 billion times a day! I crack mine so frequently and viciously my colleagues often think I'm putting my highlighter pen lids on until I giggle.

Psy is correct. All you're doing is releasing the build up of Carbon Dioxide in the knuckle fluid. Rapid expansion plus compressed gas = bubbles that pop loudly. This is most definitely a coincidence as they actually showed in some studies (not all mind) that cracking the knuckles releases tension and pressure and makes the knuckle more flexible. Same goes for other joints.... personally I love clicking/cracking/popping anything I can manage, shoulders feel amazing after doing that!

I despise the sound of cracked knuckles and the idea of doing it myself seems equal parts embarrassing and impossible.
