Been in a real X-Files mood lately and was curious to see if anyone else loved this iconic 90s show as much as I do?

I watched it on and off with family back when it was on, but can't remember much about it. Lost interest after Agent Mulder left and was replaced by what's his face.

The first half dozen seasons or so are very good (plus the first movie), it tails off somewhat after that. I didn't bother with the second film and doubt I will watch this new run next year. I always found I preferred the off-kilter stories like Jose Chung's Fron Outer Space or The Post-Modern Prometheus to the big story arc they had running throughout the series.

I enjoyed the show a good bit when it was new. I will probably watch the new series when it comes out.

We've started watching it in bursts some time ago. We're around season three now. Loving it :D

I remember being terrified when my mom watched it when I was a kid.

I liked the show when it dealt with the ongoing mysteries and mythology of the series, but wasn't a fan of the one-off 'scary case of the week' episodes, which was most of them. Then they changed the cast and it was not worth watching anymore.

For those who liked the show, are you going to watch the new season on Fox?

I'm intrigued by it but I don't really watch TV as much anymore. I'm also not sure how I feel about old Mulder and Scully as well. On the other hand, the show is largely being worked on by everyone who did the early seasons and was promised to continue the myth arc while still maintaining one-shot stories (sorry, Del, I liked those more than the myth arc) so it's looking good on paper at least. If they can wrap up the series, I would be happy.

I kinda liked both. The myth arc was cool overall, but while most one-offs are kind of okay at best, some are really stellar, IMO.

Being as out of touch as I am, I didn't even know they were bringing the show back. Not that I'm surprised. They've been bringing everything back, lately. Boy Meets World (technically Girl Meets World, but still a spin-off), Full House, Heroes.

If Hannibal is anything to go by, Gillian Anderson looks even more beautiful now than she did in the 90s. David Duchovny seems to be ageing less well!
