The latest Bond film..

Guns. Explosions. Car chases. Dramatic set-pieces. An improbably located secret base. Bond being tortured in an unnecessarily slow and over-the-top way, allowing him to stage a dramatic escape. A Bond girl who knows how to shoot a gun properly (been a while since we had one of those). Daniel Craig continuing to be a DILF.

It had everything, really.

Have you seen it? If not, are you going to?

What did you think of it?

I saw it yesterday and... it was OK. Not as good as Casino Royale or Skyfall, but waaay better then Quantum of Solace. It did feel like it dragged on a lot though. It's a 2 and a half hour film and I think it could cut 30 minutes off that and be better for it. My main issues is that I didn't really get why the villain was doing what he was doing... and also shakey-cam during a lot of the fights so it was hard to see what was actually going on.

But still, pretty decent. Won't skip over it during the Bond Marathons.

Pretty much this. It was decent but Daniel Craig has done better Bond films. A few non-spoiler points:

- Can it be the Bond and Q show next time? And show us Q's cats!
- That Sam Smith Bond theme really is dull. And god knows what was up with the tentacle rape credit sequence.
- Can Quentin Tarantino please send notes to the rest of Hollywood on how to effectively use Christoph Waltz in a film. Much preferred Javier Bardem in Skyfall.
- Post-Guardians of the Galaxy, it seems a real waste to have Dave Bautista in your film and give him one word of dialogue.

Did they have the trailer for Civil War? That's what I'm jacked about. :omgomg:

Not over here it didn't. Maybe before Star Wars?

I heard it goes more into Bond's backstory which was my least favorite part of Skyfall.

They have to do the shaky cam because they have to mask inadequate fighting/action sequences otherwise known as the Bourne Trick.

I'm about to go see it.

Alledgedly, Daniel Craig really hated doing this movie, completely loathed the entire production, and said he'd rather commit suicide than have to do another Bond movie after Spectre, so it should be an interesting watch.

Just came back from seeing it. It was pretty silly, but enjoyable. There's a certain delight to seeing Christoph Waltz dubbing himself in German.

And I'm back. It was good, and, I have to agree, silly at times, though completely self-aware of how silly it was being.

I didn't enjoy it as much as Skyfall but it was pretty close.
