As in its year of release in your country of origin. There, I just made this thread loads easier.

Pong for me. Released in 1972. Just two paddles and a dot. It was a different time. A simpler time.

Discuss.

Probably Spacewar!. 1961/1962. Obviously I didn't play it on the original computer because I think only one is known to exist but it was the same game, using the original code. It is not an easy game.

Solstice on the NES. It wasn't for a boy at 6 years of age. I tried though. It has to be up there with the hardest games of all time.

Sneaky Spuuky. Stealing the victory from Pike on a technicality.

I'll allow it.

Wouldn't surprise me if Go were even older than chess. Not that I've played it

Damn, how'd you play that? I didn't think video games hit public consumption until the 70's.

The source code was made public several decades after release so you can play it emulated.

Played a recreation of "Tennis for Two" at a small booth at some E3 promotion, something about the history of video games and where they're going. Was really neat, they put it on an oscilloscope screen with all the dials and such. I wish I had taken pictures of it, it think it's even more cool every time I remember it.
