Same as the one in the lounge but for video games. What's your favorite post-apocalyptic world to explore?

I have a theory that the Mushroom Kingdom is the result of nuclear fallout radiation mutating all the creatures into things like giant rideable lizards or the people with mushrooms for heads or fire breathing plants etc. And bowser was princess peaches lover before the radiation mutated him into whatever he is. Peach survived by hiding in the royal bomb shelter and Mario and Luigi survived because they were working inside some giant lead piping at the time.

For actual canonical post apocalypses.

Zero Escape Virtues Last Reward's Rad-6 infected world is the only post-apocalyptic game I can think of right now but you dont get to see much of it.

edit:
I liked FF6's World of Ruin is pretty good because you can actually compare and contrast the differences between pre-apocalypse and post-apocalypse and see the effect it has on everyone.

SMT IV, easily. Especially sińce you really don't expect it to be that when it starts :p Wait, should this be in spoiler tags?

I just really love how the world here is basically a main character in its own right. Through exploring it, talking to people and doing missions, you get to know the city better and better as the story progresses in a non-linear way. I think it's one of the best designed world's in a video game, not just out of a the post-apocalyptic ones.

SMT IV, New Vegas, and The Future in Chrono Trigger are all fantastic for different reasons.

Wild ARMs! I can name a lot of other obvious things off the top of my head. Wild ARMs was able to create a cool semi-Western apocalypse with science fiction, Steampunk, and fantasy elements. Wild ARMs 3 is my personal favorite iteration of this setting.
