Final Fantasy XV currently playable from start to finish

Over at the official Final Fantasy XV forums (https://forum.finalfantasyxv.com/discussion/813/%E9%96%8B%E7%99%BA%E6%83%85%E5%A0%B1-ffxv%E3%83%97%E3%83%AC%CE%B2%E7%89%88%E3%81%AB%E3%81%A4%E3%81%84%E3%81%A6#latest), programmer Kitade has stated that pre-beta for Final Fantasy XV has finished. This mean the game is playable from start to finish and it's first half is completed in its entirety.

“We’re at the point where we can play the game in its entirety from start to finish,” Kitade said. “From this, everyone on the development team can get an overall view on the game.”

At this point they are just polishing everything to make it into its final form. Kitade even went on to say the entire first half of the game is essentially up to par with its final state. They'll be polishing the gameplay and content to make sure it comes out at its highest standard.

Final Fantasy XV is slated to come out in 2016. Square Enix plans to announce an official release date at an event in March 2016.

I am actually very excited for this! I never got round to playing FFXIII (on my list) and I barely started FFXII back in the day before my PS2 drowned. FFX was the last one I felt this level of excitement for. Bring it on Square Enix, you sexy bastards!

Sorry. I'm kind of excited, but I'm not going to pretend this has happened in a timely manner. I am, however, super pumped for the 2024 release of FFXVI!!! I hope it has playable ladies

I've been caught up in the FFVII Remake hype and kind of ignored this news. Good to hear! Get Christmas and new year out the way and we'll be that bit closer to the March announcement!

I'm not denying the fact that the game has had a ridiculous development time but still, I'm looking forward to experiencing a new Final Fantasy.

Final Fantasy XV has a lot of potential, that's for sure. Whether that potential will live up to the massive expectations that people have for this game, I'm not sure. I'm looking forward to finding out!

It is exciting. I'm still somewhat disappointed that there appears to be no playable female characters, which seems odd. Still, the game looks interesting and the 'road trip' motif that they're going with is a novel concept, to say the least.
Even if they did add female party members they wouldn't be playable, because Noctis. But I get where you're coming from ;)
