Attraction is a funny thing. You can't always explain what attracts you to another person. It can be anything from the way the corner of his eyes crinkle when he laughs, or the way she digs her heels into your sides during the reverse cowgirl. It can't be quantified.

Lets take a look at some examples of these strange laws of attraction.

A fat, elderly man with a beard surrounded by hundreds of creatures resembling eight-year-old boys raises all sorts of questions. The type of questions asked by the police whilst the sick old bastard is in handcuffs. This kind of attraction should not be pursued.

Christmas & Old Manus
Our witty Welshman is something of a dirty smurfer. So much so that I wouldn't be surprised to see him hitting on a festive holiday season. The surprise may be on him though when this holiday season turns out to be a small, crazy oriental lady laughing maniacally at his pathetically small man parts.

Fynn & Bowser
There was a kid in our class at school called Kevin who had a small collection of lizards. This opening sentence has no relevance on why Fynn has an attraction to a giant, fictional lizard with a kidnapping complex. Some people are just weird.

Jar Jar Jinx & Shauna
Some of the strongest relationships are forged over time and are cemented by shared interests and experiences. Other relationships, like this one, are forged in the knowledge that if one of them were to fall arse-over-tit into a puddle of muddy water, the other would laugh themselves senseless for about an hour whilst posting the pictures on Instagram.

This is a special award, I think. Part of the charm of EoFF, or any forum really, is the community. You don't just come to drop your opinions on how cool/not cool Seifer's outfit is, you come here for the people. What does this person think? How about that one? What does so and so have going on? Did she get that job? Has he watched that new show I like?

Being nominated for this award is a way of saying "We like you around here. People have accepted you in to the community. We know you won't just post an intro thread, one more post, and then never return. We enjoy your posts. We recognize you when we see you." And I think that's important. It's important to feel like you belong somewhere, that you're part of something. Being nominated, even if you don't win, is a happy and fun experience, I think. I remember how excited I got the first time I was even nominated for something.

These are the members we have nominated for this:

Bri - Originally the wife of escobert, she has become her own forum presence recently. I really enjoy her posts and I think she's such a sweet lady. She also had a baby recently and I'm sure she's an excellent mom!

fat_moogle - This member is great for getting our Final Fantasy news. Always quick on the draw to post up the latest happenings for all of us to marvel at. Plus the adorable avatar of course.

Fox - Another adorable forum set, Fox brings a lot of positivity and energy to the threads he posts in. He's also an excellent person to discuss video games with, and he has a lot of insight to share down in the lower forums.

Galuf - I know Glauf mostly from chat and the RP we did a little while ago. His posts are always a lot of fun to read and he's a very easy to get along with person.

maybee - maybee has been around here for a while now, and I'm amazed she hasn't won a Ciddie! She's not afraid to share her Final Fantasy opinions, and it's great to get some discussion about this stuff. She also has good taste in games, let's face it.

Rin Heartilly - A newer member around these parts, Rin sports a nice Rinoa avatar and actually looks like Rinoa herself. She's very fun to talk to and easy to get along with, and she has some great posts as well!

I hope you guys have fun with your award. If you weren't nominated, that doesn't mean you aren't a part of our community either. Everyone here makes an impression in one way, and you really could be a positive point in someone's day. Staff is a sort of odd chocobo in this forum. We all wish to be a part of it, but we're also all very aware that Staff is fundamentally evil at its core. I'm mean just look at the majority of the former staff and the problems they have caused during their tenure. This is why I took this award speech. As a former staff member, I know what it takes to run with the dark underbelly of this forum and let me tell you that these nominees just don't make the cut. People don't understand one fundamental fact about Staff.

#1. STAFF ARE THE GODDAMN SHIN-RA. They made be called Cid Knight's but were handed suits and a weapon along with Turk principle. They are not Site Staff, they are Heideggar and Scarlet's Peace forces and R&D departments. They are not Editors, they are Hojo's assistants. If they are an Administrator, they are Rufus smurfing Shinra. Don't ever forget that and remember that when you vote for this award, you're really voting for the people you expect to steal your privileges, burn your homes, make super weapons, and spend long vacations in Costa Del Sol while the rest of you are wallowing in despair. These nice people you voted for? They are nice and respectable people, people who deserve admiration for making the forum a better place. Not the harbingers of the Corporations all mighty god the Gil. So remember that next time you vote for this award. Meanwhile, I'm going back to sleep in my coffin.

We Final Fantasy fans are a curious bunch. There's just as many of us who think the series has long since lost its luster as there are hopeful for the future. It really comes as no surprise, considering the circumstances surrounding the next numbered entry. Final Fantasy XV has undergone a change in name, graphical engine, director, gameplay, and heroine over the course of its nearly ten-year development cycle. None of that bodes well for the franchise, especially considering the notoriety of the Fabula Nova Chrystalis series, or even for the genre, as Tabata has stated that FFXV doing poorly may spell the end of console JRPGs.

However, there are those who remain ever hopeful. Bah, not just hopeful - excited even, as the promise of greatness that FFXV undoubtedly carries is enough for them to overlook the rocky development cycle. Their names are:

Aye, itsa me, Mario! I'ma going to introduce the nominees for most likely to bea the next DLC ina the Super Smash Bros. game for the Wii U anda the 3DS. First off, I'd like to remind you how difficult it is to be a Smash contestant. Itsa not easy and takes a special kinda person... ish... thing... to bea the best in the Smash! Next we have Ayen, who cannot beata the Super Mario Bros. ona the NES. How does this idiota expect to Smash in the Smasha game if he no good at the Mario? Oh, he playa the 3D Mario good? Luigi playa the 3D Mario good, too, and hea no good in life as well!

Third we have Datt Matt, who lika the Zelda games. Mario lika the Zelda games, too, because Mario hasa thing for the blondes. :jokey: Mama mia, thatsa spicy meataball!

Fourth we hava the Pike, our firsta lady on this list (unless you saya the Ayen a lady, but I only saya he a girl because he can't beata the Super Mario Bros.) Pike lika the Charmander. Mario prefera the Amoongus, but Chamander is okey dokey as a starter. Pike isa lota like Mario. Mario has Luigi, Pike hasa the Mr. Adequate. Both are afterthoughts in Mr. Miyamoto's mind.

My god, some people are just nerds! Final Fantasy this! Final Fantasy that! Why don't they take Final Fantasy and get a room! These people are all likely to get Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U or Nintendo 3DS, whether they have the system or not, just because Cloud Strife is going to be available. What the Final Heaven is wrong with you people? These are our nerdminees:

Bubba- This guy has a four month old son to raise and all he's worried about raising are chocobos! It's been 20 years and he's still trying to get the Gold Chocobo. I'm sure he'll give it up to play as his hero in Smash.

Colonel Angus- This nerd has never owned a Smash game, yet probably wants one now for Cloud. VII isn't even his favorite Final Fantasy. He should just save his lunch money for the Fran DLC instead. In fact, he should save his lunch money anyway, his pants are getting a little tight around the waist.

Crop- Crop'll crap away all his earnings just to get a Cloud. He'll sell his PS4 to get a Wii U (only to have to sell something else to get the PS4 back when FFVII HD Remake comes out). He might as well skip all that and perform as a Clown at children's birthday parties on the weekends to make the Wii U money.

Loony BoB- Can't be arsed, playing Final Fantasy XIV.

Okay, phew, I think it's dead. Anyway, so Fallout 4 is a game that has won many accolades and has caused a large reaction on the internet. Here of EoFF, several of our members have turned to the radioactive side of the force and abandoned Final Fantasy in favour of traversing a wasteland.

I too have journeyed into The Commonwealth, and I have to say I've really gotten into - oh, hang on, I need to beautify my settlement.

Oh, hang on, what was I doing again? Oh right, the speech. So there's been a few members that have been recognised by other members of EoFF for being just as in love of Fallout 4 than I was! We have Fox, Mister Adequate, Pike, Psychotic and Vivi22.

I've kinda been too busy playing to properly look at their merits in becoming a finalist for the award. From what I can gather, they all played Fallout 4, but I'm also sure than some of them did actually vote, so that's a few points off there.

Psychotic sticks out in my mind as a guy who really enjoys his Fallout. His entire avatar revolves around it, and he's been regaling us with tales of his own journeys in the wasteland:

Fox has been talking about the stealth mechanics, I guess. One time, I blew this guy's head off my sneaking real quiet. It was amazing.

Mister Adequate meanwhile has been telling us all about the ending. Did I say ending? More like smehnding, am I right? He also ate a baby, but the less said about that, the better.

Vivi22 apparently doesn't care about lost children.

And Pike hasn't been so active in the Fallout 4 discussion thread, which just proves how hardcore she is! Who has time for discussion when there's more adventure to be had!

Ugh. I know many of us, if not most of us, have at one time or another received a well intention gift that was not exactly what we had in mind. Whether it was getting Dianetics by L. Ron Hubbard instead of that DVD collection of Diagnosis Murder we wanted, or getting a hula hoop instead of a basketball hoop, we all know how aggravating that could be.

With the upcoming release of Minecraft on the Wii U, many of us who've asked for it on the PC will likely get it on disc form, not on the PC instead. Some of these people, like Ayen, Bolivar, Pike, Mr. Adequate and Scotty_ffgamer probably don't even have a Wii U. Colonel Angus, who was also nominated, does and is willing to take any unwanted copies. Thank you everyone else's grandma. Thank you.

The cold night air felt as thick as the snow that covered the ground. Santa and Frosty hid behind the Reindeer stables, wearily holding their breath. For they knew, if they would breath, the smoke would give their location. All Christmas Eve they were hunted like endangered animals at a dentist convention.

"Your days are numbered, Fatso!" shouted a woman's voice from the other side of the barn. "Aye, Christmas will be ours."

Santa silently signaled to Frosty to head over the hills into the Enchanted Gum Drop Forest. Surely, these fiends wouldn't think of venturing there. As the portly duo made their way, a barrage of snowballs fell about them.

"Heads up, Snowbutt!" Yelled a man from atop the stables. It was Dat Matt, armed with a snowball launcher. "Shauna, they're going into the woods!"

Shauna ran around the stable, flinging Christmas ornaments at Santa's head. "Aye, ya bloody fat bastard! Christmas will be ours!"

Santa and Frosty rolled down the other side of the hill, out of range of the angry Scots fire. Shauna and Matt ran up the hill. "I've got them, lassie!" Matt shouted, pointing a bazooka at the holiday duo. Suddenly, a rain of Reindeer "Chocolate" fell upon them.

"Rudolph with your bowels so full, thank you for saving Christmas tonight!" Santa cheered, waving.

"Santa," Rudolph said, "You and Frosty better run for it, there's more fiends ready to take your place as king of Christmas!"

Santa and Frosty made their way into the Woods. The trees were covered with fruity sweet gumdrops, which reflected the moonlight in dazzling colors. The deeper they went, the brighter the colors.

"Ho, ho, ho,"' Santa chimed, "the light is so bright, it burns my eyes."

Frosty, who noticed he was getting a little soft, replied, "Santa, I don't think the light is what's burning your eyes!"

The forest was lit ablaze by two men with flamethrowers. "Bah humbug!" Psychotic yelled, fanning the flames at Frosty. DK lit a molotov cocktail and tossed it at Santa. But before it could get to him, Frosty used the last of his Snow powers to put the forest into a deep freeze. The flames flickered out, the molotov cocktail fell in a frozen thud. Psychotic and DK turned to popsicles.

"Frosty!" Santa cried, "why did you do this?" Frosty was nothing more than a whirl of winter air. His magic hat floated high into the air, out of sight.

"I had to save Christmas," said the undone snowman. "If I didn't, I would've melted and they would've destroyed the North Pole. You're our last hope, Santa! You have to get to the Polar Bear's Cave and get her help!"

Santa scooted off, knocking down the DK ice figure, shattering it. As he exited, Frosty's hat fell from the sky and landed upon Psychotic's head.

Before he could reach the Polar Bear's Cave, Santa came across the Elve's Workshop. Outside were two of his most trusted elves, Pike and Mr. Adequate. They were on their break, tossing around a beach ball. "Boy, I wish I didn't have to work on Christmas Eve!" Pike said, as she caught Mr. A's pass.

"If we were in charge, my dear Pike," Mr. A said, "You could spend your days writing Christmas Carols instead of slaving for minimum wage!"

He then turned to Santa. "Slave Driver!" He shouted, as tossed the ball at Santa. "My dear Pike doesn't want to build your shoddy toys anymore! So I'll make sure she never will again!"

Pike and Mr. A jumped Santa, pulling on his beard, kicking him in the belly. "Ho, ho, no..." Santa cried. He struggled to pull them off, but the little scampers wouldn't give. "$15 an hour and 5 weeks vacation!" screamed Pike as she gave Santa a wedgie.

Santa cried in horror. "$15? Do you think this is a for-profit?" Santa scolded, "I'll put you on a shelf, you mischievous elves!" He picked up Mr. A and swung him like a sack, knocking Pike into a tree. He twirled around and around, violently swinging Mr. A. Santa flung the elf far across the mountains. Pike wearily looked on in horror.

"We'll get you, Santa!" She cried, running after her boyelf. Santa continued on, for he was getting tired.

Soon Santa made it to the Polar Bear's Cave. The Polar Bear was fast asleep in her bed. Santa decided to crash on the couch, as the fire inside was nice and warm. "Oh, my feet are so sore."

What seemed like moments later, there was a sharp rap at the door. Polar Bear, who must've been hibernating, was fast asleep. So Santa went to the door and peeked through the peephole. Unfortunatley, it was a reverse peephole, so he couldn't see a thing.

"We see you, fatty!" Yelled a man's voice from the other side. "We got something for you, special delivery from a good friend."

Santa was trusting, but wasn't a fool. "Who are you?" he said. "I'll have you know, I'm in here with a large bear, a bear with a vast gun collection!"

"C'mon Santa," said another man's voice, "We're here with a delivery, not to hurt you."

Santa decided to open the door. If anything maybe this will end all this nonsense.

There stood two smiling men in suits. One was wearing a Darth Vader mask, the other a jaunty fedora. "Merry Christmas, Santa!" they shouted, handing him a FedEx envelope. Santa opened it as they stood there beaming.

"You have been served with a lawsuit by Raistlin and Associates. We hearby claim Christmas for Raistlin and his Associate, Del Murder. Any claim upon Christmas by Mr. Santa Claus aka Kris Kringle aka Saint Nicolas, shall hereby be null and void."

"You're suing me for Christmas!" Santa roared, tearing the papers into tiny pieces.

"Would you rather we kill you?" Del Murder asked.

Santa pondered. "Yes," he said.

Del pulled out a Tommy gun. "Have it your way," he said. But before he could pull the trigger, a giant Polar Bear came leaping from behind Santa, landing on the unknowing duo. "Run Santa!" roared the bear.

Santa ran and ran. He made it all the way to the Ice Bridge. The bridge was very slick and there was nothing to hold onto. When he made halfway across, the was greeted by a large yellow bird.

"KWEH!" it said, flapping it's wings. Santa pet the large bird, the likes he never seen before. He noticed a saddle and hopped on.

"I think this is a new friend!" Santa said, riding the bird across the bridge.

Then the bird suddenly stopped. Flipping Santa off, down into the canyon. As Santa cried, Rudolph swooped down and caught Santa's collar in his mouth. "Rudolph!" Santa yelled in glee, as Rudolph lowered him down.

Santa gave Rudolph a hug. The Yellow Bird landed, with none other than Psychotic on his back.

"Psychotic!" Santa yelled, "How did you get here?" He then noticed Frosty's hat on Psychotic's head.

"Oh, I get by with a little help... from YOUR friends!" he quipped, cackling loudly. The yellow bird popped it's head off, to reveal that it was Loony BoB in a costume.

"BoB! How could you?" Santa cried. "I thought you loved Santa."

"Oh, you blubbering fat turd," BoB sneered, "I love Christmas, not a fat old elf like you. Christmas will be ours, and you can't do anything about it."

Psychotic stepped up and exclaimed, "With the power of Frosty's... nay... MY HAT, I will become the TRUE KING of CHRISTMAS!"

The ground shook wildly as a large moose appeared. On it's back rode the Shaunas. "Not so fast, you wanker," yelled Shauna, "We're takin' Christmas for ourselves!" Matt stood on the back of the beast, bare chested, painted in green and red paint. "You may take our dignity, but we're going to take your Christmas!" he bellowed.

Then came sliding along on the back of a pair of penguins was Pike and Mr. Adequate, who landed on an Electrical Wire and was nothing more than a charred skeleton. "Those who sow the seeds of the holidays shall be the bearer of the fruits!" yelled Pike screamed, swinging a morning star above her diminutive head.

As the penguin made a beeline for Psychotic, a large Yeti landed in it's way, knocking the elves back. DK jumped off the shoulder of the Yeti. "So you found a new mate, mate?" he asked Psychotic.

"Wha..." Psychotic said in shock, "You were frozen to death! What the hell do you suppose I do? Give up?"

"We helped him," said Del Murder, who was riding sidecar on Raistlin's Motorcycle.

"But why?" They all wondered.

Yes we're all wondering why. Why are they trying to take over Christmas? Why are they doing any of this? What happened to Frosty? Where's Mrs. Claus? What does any of this have to do with Christmas? And most of all, who will Take Over Christmas?!

Santa was perplexed by all of this. All he knew was that he was done for, but by whom?

Celebrate Festivus

For those of you who don't know, Festivus is a holiday created for the rest of us who have a great disdain for the overbearing commercialism, forced family get togethers, and tiring decorating that goes with Christmas. Unlike Christmas (and it's Jewish counterpart Hanukkah), Festivus doesn't have any religious connotations. It's just an aluminum pole, some airing of grievances, and to end it, The Feats of Strength.

Those who nominated for this Ciddie all fall under this category. Quite frankly, we're all too busy/poor/cheap to go out and buy presents for everyone who's ever spent a moment of their lives in our lives. So this is a great award. Why? Because eggnog is the greatest drink (yes, drink, Bubba :stare: of all time. Do you like alcohol? Have an alcoholic version. Do you not like alcohol? Have the non-alcoholic version from the grocery store (my preffered eggnog).

How do I describe eggnog to those who have not had it. It's like... creamier, milk. Creamier, sweeter milk. And thicker. And like a bazillion calories of deliciousness. It tastes like Christmas. It comes out only once a year, making sure it's value and specialness is never diminished, and it brings joy on to our lives.
