Right so this is 50 things that can be found in most of or all of final fantasy. Don't be afraid to go higher. Post more things you notice about the games that really stick out. Don't forget to number them. I have 50 things, how many more can you think of?

1. Chocobo - Rather it's Yellow, Blue, Green, Red, White, Black, Silver or Gold a chocobo is one of Final Fantasy's most memorable creature. It is a really big bird! Kweek!

2. Excalibur - A holy blade said to be a legendary weapon almost always exists in Final Fantasy. You can look forward to seeing more weapons like this but nothing seems to be more of a trademark then this weapon.

3. Airships - From Final Fantasy I all the way to Final Fantasy XIII there was a major means to have an airship. I know there are ships in XIII but none that allow full transportation around the globe.

4 ATB (Active Time Battle) - Almost every Final Fantasy game has a form of active battle. This makes it so you have to wait for your turn to attack an enemy or heal yourself.

5. Bahamut - A dragon who strikes with non-elemental damage and ignores defense. This creature is in them all. He is the one who enhances your jobs in final fantasy I.

6. Moogles - One of the creatures that can cross time and to other world is no other then Mog! He is a good creature and has helped many lead characters throughout the series.

7. Ifrit - A summon/aeon/esper/airship/eidolon master of fire magic. He is almost always a early summon you can get. He helps all the way too be very useful.

8. Shiva - Like Ifrit she is an early summon. She usually uses diamond dust. There are sometimes Moments where she has a sister like in Final Fantasy XIII.

9. Odin - He comes in the form of a king, he usually has a boss battle to get him. In which time he will count down to Zantetsuken. He is a summon and usually slices enemies in two. It is an instant death attack.

10. Black Mages - Usually controlling elemental damage and status alignments this meteor casting job is found in a lot of final fantasy games. Spamming fire spells at enemies is also a legitimate tactics in all titles.

11. White Mages - How would we ever get through a game if we can't cast cure? If potions aren't good enough, you won't. So the white mage is always needed no mater how how much trouble they get themselves into.

12. Warrior/Knight - Almost the same thing but knight can sometimes do the job better. They attack and attack while they aren't good with any magic. They are still a Final Fantasy staple.

13. Thief - It is fast, it can steal, and it isn't bad in battle at all. I know I always look forward to using a thief so I can find hidden treasures.

14. Omega - Not always known as Omega Weapon this creature is a stamped superboss of Final Fantasy. You want to be high level and dish out a lot of damage as Omega seems to end the battle quick.

15. Ultima Weapon - We're talking about the sword and the creature. The sword is found usually by defeating the creature. He makes his first appearance in Final Fantasy VI while his brother/cousin/father Omega is found in earlier titles.

16. Tonberry - "This is one small little guy who doesn't look tough at all." is what we all said before we knew the truth. This guy always hates your main party member the worst. His "everyones grudge" attack is based on how much the rest of your party doesn't like you.

17. Iron Giant - He's made of iron, and he is really big. This guy looks like he can end the world himself. You usually find him in final dungeons. He holds the Mighty Guard blue magic.

18. Blue Mages - Surprise! They cast spells enemies can cast on you! There is always some type of blue magic in final fantasy games. You usually have to get hit from the spell to learn it but you can eat or cast lancet too.

19. Bombs - Usually grows three times and then self destructs. They aren't always fire based but when they are your best bet is to attack with ice.

20. Potions - they aren't in all final fantasies but they are in most (or are they in all). They aren't magic but they do restore HP to allies. You can commonly steal them from enemies or but them at a shop.

21. Ethers - They cure MP. This allows you to cast spells. It is a much needed item and can be rare in some games. It's best to use these as a "as needed bases".

22. Phoenix Downs - or Phoenix Feathers. They are the easiest way to bring someone back from KO status. They kill undead enemies and they can not be used on Aeris.

23. Cactaur - or cactuar. They attack with 1000 needles and can be really annoying. If they don't run away from battle they can be a lot of good. Giving a lot of AP.

24. Behemoth - big attack and likes to use meteor. Because of that he is one of the biggest damage dealers in final fantasy. If he does counter with meteor make sure you silence him. He has many forms like Proto-Behemoth.

25. Genji Mail - Well really there is a genji shield and other genji equipment. It is one of the best armors in the games. Usually only beaten by exclusive equipment and but not much. It makes it's appearance in final fantasy games that use armors.

26. Blood Sword - Strike an enemy and absorb the hp. This is a great weapon found in a lot of final fantasy games. While it is weaker then say Excalibur and Ultima weapon this weapon is still a goodie. Just don't attack things that are undead.

27. Ribbons - An accessory is cool right? Status effects not cool right? A lot of the time an endgame accessory is indeed a ribbon. Not to be confused with the avalanche gang sign. This item is in a lot of final fantasy games.

28. Dragoons - Kain, it's Kain Highwind right? Even Cid Highwind in Final Fantasy VII favored this awesome class. Using a Spear he jumps in the air leaving him unattackable and dealing double damage when he comes down.

29. Time mage - Hastega, win. Slowga, double win. Teleport? Yes please. It's not really the most popular of mages but they do appear in multiple Final Fantasy games.

30. Cid - Always supplies you with at least one ship. Even in Final Fantasy VI he makes a ship if you save him. He appears with an airship which is often very useful.

31. Marlboro - Famous for its bad breath this creature can end the fight fast. It hits for status attacks and then slowly takes you down. If you not prepared for the fight do not try. He will kill. nomnomnom.

32. Remedy - Back in items this item sticks out in a lot of games. It usually has the same effect as a eye drop, echo screen, antidote will do. It is very similar to the esuna white mage spell.

33. Chaos Blade - Usually really, really strong. Hidden in the deep dungeons this blade appears in multiple games.

34. Save the Queen - Another blade from the series that is seen a lot. Usually a holy weapon but is also used by knights. Beatrix in final fantasy IX used this weapon as had many others before and after her.

35. Pandemonium - It can be a place or a summon but at a time during Final Fantasy I-15 there are many times a play achieves Pandemonium.

36. Flan - They are jelly with high defense. You gotta hit them with a spell. This creatures are a classic example that a basic enemy. They are found in a lot of final fantasy games and in many forms.

37. Red Mages - Can attack, cast white magic, casts black magic, doesn't do as good as other jobs. They are a Jack of all trades.

38. Frogs - Yep, that's right. Ribbit. Frogs show up so much in final fantasy but go unnoticed. However you can get a nifty frog song blue magic from them.

39. Magic Pot - "Gimme Elixer" (Items > Elixer > Magic Pot > Attack > Magic pot = AP!!) Did you follow that? Well just give him an elixer and kill it. He will give AP to you. He does other things as well like force you to use a certain action.

40. Ragnarok - Can be a sword, a summon, a ship, or a place. Final Fantasy likes to try and name something Ragnarok in its titles.

41. Ninja - It's a job class in many final fantasy games. Usually using two weapons instead of one. It can be upgrade to as early as Final Fantasy I when you bring a thief to Bahamut.

42. Gambler - if it throws dice, plays with cards, or does something MORE silly then this in a fight it must be a Gambler. Final Fantasy has trade to introduce a way of fighting which involves toys.

43. Monk - Weapons not cool enough? Wanna see someone use their fists? Have high HP and cheap? Monk does a lot of good in the games as he is basically a warrior with higher HP. He has lower defense though. :(

44. Cait Sith - He is a cat who likes to fight, but he comes in a very friendly stuffed body as well. He appears as a villain, summon, character, and stuff animal. He is really another unique Final Fantasy being.

45. Leviathan - In the earlier titles he was a superboss and most of the time he is a summon. He doesn't always appear in the games but a lot of the time he does. He is a water Elemental creature.

46. Trains - Yep. It's basic transport in a lot of final fantasy games. Not to mention there is doomtrain and other monsters. Take a ride around midgar or travel as a SeeD you have spent your time in trains.

47. Mace of Zeus - A reoccurring mace that a lot of mages use. While it's not always the best it is good gear in a lot of games.

48. Gysahl Greens - They seem to be the most popular of the chocobo food choices. Sometimes they are used to summon the fat chocobo which holds items.

49. Tents - Same as a megalixer but can only be use in certain places. Not all games have them now n days but from the early titles up until X Final Fantasy always had tents.

50. Maps - A lot of games only have one but some games use multiple maps. Most players are familiar to using them to travel on the world map.

Odin doesn't appear in FFI. Excalibur is received when you give the ADAMANT to the Dwarf Smith & after a while he makes the sword for you.

What games are the Blood Sword are in? I can't think of anything other than IX.

51. Save the Queen
I really like the name of this recurring weapon. From my knowledge I think it's only in VIII, IX, and X with IX's being the most memorable since it was a weapon exclusive to one of the best characters in the franchise and was even mentioned once outside of a gameplay context.

I, VII, VIII, and X does not have the blood sword. Although you can make attacks drain HP in VII and VIII thanks to their mechanics.

I'll point you to this http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Save_the_Queen cause it states all the games Save the Queen is in.

Blood sword is in III, IV, XII for sure.

It's also in II. Which I know because I JUST MISSED IT AND CAN NEVER GET IT BACK AND IT CAN MAKE THE FINAL BATTLE PATHETICALLY EASY :simon:

Firion's EX Burst in Dissidia actually changes all his weapons to blood weapons to reference that.

51. Gilgamesh - He appears in Final Fantasy V along with his main theme, battle on the big bridge. He comes in many final fantasy games. He has a form with 6 arms. He can be summoned in later titles.

52. Alexander - A holy based creature appearing in the form of a castle. He appears in a lot, although not all, Final Fantasy games.

53. Elixir - fully restores HP and MP or just HP. These things can be rare and perfectionists really don't like wasting them. You can often give them to magic pot enemies and earn AP.

54. Antidote -Cures poison most of the time. They can be an item or a magic. It goes unused as esuna and remedy do it better.

55. Bards - You spoony bard!! Yes Final Fantasy even introduces harps as actual weapons. They usually act as a supportive class. Often used in the back row and sometimes has attacks that damage undead.

56. Archers - Like to use a bow? In some final fantasy titles you can be an archer. Even white mages have a good use for this type of fighting. A hunter is a job class in many final fantasy and a very common tactical strategy.

57. Forests - Where the big enemies roam lol. Ever since the first game you could travel in forests. Sometimes you got exclusive monsters you can find in exclusive forests. Even in late games forests are still around on a more detailed terrain or story line.

58. Save Points - Not introduced in Final Fantasy VII. Save points are a tiny spot in the games where enemies can not hurt you. A lot of the time you can save on the world map. You can use tents, cabins but in later games you get full health.

59. Chests - You guessed it. Many chests are in these game and hold rewards or a enemy. Some titles offer multiple items with a chance to win more then one prize. I'm looking at you Final Fantasy XII

60. Graveyards - RIP LINK or just in general, Final Fantasy has many graveyards. Since the game started they had tombs all throughout the series.

61. Sex Sells - Whether it's the myriad of adult books that the likes of Irvine, Cyan, and the developers indulge in, the can-can shows that Mr. VIP Cecil Harbvey likes to frequent, or the infamous Honeybee Inn; you can bet your ass that the oldest profession in the world is alive and well in the FF-verse.

62. Onion Knights - Debuting in FFIII, the class has had myriads of references to them in later FFs. The job resurfaced for the War of the Lions and their gear is available in FFIV DS and FFXI. For the somewhat modern FF fan, they'll recognize them as Lulu's Celestial Weapon.

63. Samurai - Debuting in FFV, this class has become a staple in the FF series. It's most unique aspect is that the class has never had a consistent play-style in the series, always being radically different from previous incarnations. In FFV, they blocked blades, threw change, and had a double critical hit. Cyan could channel his Ki into his sword to unleash powerful Bushido moves. In Tactics they could release the magical latent ability of their swords. In X-2, they dealt with causing high damage against opponents HP and MP sometimes based on the Samurai's own health. In XI, they are Weapon specialist who can cause massive weapon damage with their bonuses. In TA2, they enchant their swords with magic to cause elemental damage...

64. Void/Nothingness - A recurring theme throughout the series. The Crystals are the antithesis of nothingness but it hasn't stopped villains from either summoning it (Cloud of Darnkess, Necron, Calius), weaponizing it (ExDeath and to some extent Ultimecia) or just plain trying to make it happen (pretty much every FF villain).

65. Goblins - It would be faster to list the FFs that don't feature them...

66. Goblin Punch - Has been one of the three most consistent Blue Mage spells in the series, appearing in every game featuring a Blue Mage.

67. Holy Spear - Has appeared in most FFs and is usually one of the strongest spears in the game. It debuted in FFII and was the best weapon for many a dragoon.

68. Limit Breaks - A staple since their debut in FFVI and popularized in VII. Whether you call them Desperation Attacks, Limits, Overdrives, Trance, Quickenings, Full ATB Moves, or a myriad of other things, this has remained a series staple.

69. Dancers - Mr. Sakaguchi's favorite job class. First appeared in FFIII as NPC's you can interact with, this continued until it became a job itself in FFV. Dancers still pop up in later installments as well.

70. Number Allusions - Though it officially became a trend in the series with FFVII, you can kind of see they were doing this pretty far back into the series. Basically the number of the installment keeps popping up in the game in different ways. Have fun noticing them now.

71. Islands - There is always random islands in the games. However there usually is a very secret island that holds special enemies only found on that island or is so secret it takes a chocobo to reach.

72. HP - hit points are a reoccurring way of determine health. A lot of games have a max 9999 HP some more some less. There is a zombie effect that can take you below 0 it seems but can be countered with meds or magic.

73. MP - Duh, can't use magic without this stat. It allows you to use powerful attacks as long as you got the MP to do so. There is special accessories or items that allow a 0 MP cost but you usually only get them late in the game.

74.Rune Blade - Yeah this can be a special item or it could even be a starting equip. It is not a top tier weapon but it does have special uses. You can find them in a lot of Final Fantasy games but they lose their usefulness compared to later weapons.

75. EXP Egg - Alright so grinding was hell in some games. I guess that is why this reoccurring accessory appears in the games late on. They double the EXP a character can get. My first memory of the EXP Egg is in Final Fantasy VI. It is also a materia in VII though it is just called EXP Plus.

76. Tiamat - Appears as a dragon in most games. He is also very similar to Bahamut without the megaflare. He can be one of the ways to draw the Eden GF in Final Fantasy VIII. He also appears as a fiend which is my next appearance....

77. Fiends - Since Final Fantasy came out on NES the main villains have had four creatures that helped them destroy the world. You may notice Kary, Krakken, Lich, Marilith but there has been others.

78. Dragon Nest - Since at least Final Fantasy III you somehow stumble into a nest of dragons. It don't happen all the time but it does happen from time to time. These can be a place where Bahamut can be found.

79. Crystals - Fire Crystal, Wind Crystal, Earth Crystal, Water Crystal all play major parts in earlier Final Fantasy games. They are also one of the key aspects of Dissidia.

80. Space trip - There are many times you can go to space in the games. Rather it be at a lunar base, a rocket ship, or safe enough to travel on the terrain of the moon, one of Final Fantasies best man fantasy is going to the stars.
