How many of these have I done now? This must be the fourth! Anyway, as is my own little tradition on the forums, I'd like to take a walk through my own top ten pop tunes that were released in 2015! Don't need much more explanation than that now do we? :)
1. Years and Years - King
January
g_uoH6hJilc
An absolute stomper, has been on my playlist the whole of the year and I'm still so in love with it. They've had a few other great hits too, and I'm looking forward to following them through into 2016.
2. Tove Lo - Talking Body
January
AzRyxGBGiAE
Despite a January release, I didn't stumble across this song until about August during a massive Tove Lo binge. I've been told we look rather alike too! Her album is amazecakes btw.
3. Jason Derulo - Want To Want Me
March
rClUOdS5Zyw
Dat beat, those vocals. I have many memories of this song blasting out in the car and Pheesh and I singing along at the top of our voice! Those high notes are epic, such a catchy, fun, summery tune!
4. Carly Rae Jepsen - I Really Like You
March
qV5lzRHrGeg
Tom Freaking Hanks is in the video, and if you don't find yourself smiling and singing along with song then.... you're probably a normal person I guess but there's something so lush about this song. I don't know whether it's the 80's feel, the vocals... or Tom smurfing Hanks!
5. Demi Lovato - Cool For The Summer
July
il9nqWw9W3Y
Someone call the Disney police, because Demi is a little too hot in this video. I love this, it's electrifying and was something a bit different in the charts at the time. Much better than her follow up, Confident, anyway! And yes, I have a massive, massive crush on her in this video..... Urrrnrngggghhhhhhhh *drool*
6. Little Mix - Black Magic
May
MkElfR_NPBI
I will not apologise for this cheese fest being on my list, I love it, and it's the perfect bedroom hairbrush routine song. Yes, I am 23 years old okay. Love the video and all The Craft references in it. Also I just love Little Mix and why won't they let be member number 5 already?
7. Jess Glynne - Don't Be So Hard On Yourself
July
THeLVhU53ow
This has been the year of Jess Glynne indeed, she's had massive hits left right and centre since taking the world by storm last year with her Clean Bandit colab, Rather Be. Don't Be So Hard On Yourself is an anthem and so much fun to sing along with. Like Tove Lo, her album is a banger, and Miss Glynne makes my list TWICE this year! Oooerrr!
8. Justin Bieber - Sorry
October
fRh_vgS2dFE
Who isnt' finding themselves to be a little bit of a Belieber this year after Justin's bangers have been hitting the radio left right and centre? It was a hard call between Sorry and What Do You Mean, but I think Sorry Juuuuuuuuuuuuuust takes it, by a hairs breadth. Also, round of applause for the Biebs urging his fans to push the NHS choir to Number 1 for Christmas! Thank you Biebs! Now everyone, do that mad shaky dance move!
9. Jess Glynne - Take Me Home
November
2ebfSItB0oM
Taking the mood down now, one of my favourite videos and songs of the year. I love Jess's voice in this, and this is such a sad song but so fun to belt out or do a lip sync fo yo liiiife too. Props to this being the Children in Need single too.
10. Adele - Hello
November
YQHsXMglC9A
Would it be anyone else though? Those vocals, the video, the just like instant dropping of this bomb of a song and charting ERRYWHUUURR. Nobody does it like Adele - whether you think she's samey, a whinger, or a legend (the latter is the correct choice) you can't deny she has some serious chops and chart power. HELLO FROM THE OTHHHHEEERRR SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE!
