The tenth anniversary of Final Fantasy XV's announcement is approaching and, appropriately enough, it looks like this is the year the game will FINALLY see a release!

According to director Hajime Tabata as he told Famitsu, the game is entering the debug phase, and the "real FFXV" will be showcased in March during the release date announcement event. Tabata is confident that "this is the year [they'll] release Final Fantasy XV."

Are you excited to see FFXV finally come out this year? What month do you think the game will be released? Let us know in the comments!

I smurfing knew it! I said to myself, "By the time I get to XIV, XV is going to be out." And what would you know?

Sounds exciting. Hope it's sooner rather than later.

I've been thinking about these. To be a little (just a little) fair to SE, they really are put under a microscope. Every time they mention this game publicly, the media outlets grab this and turn it into an article. We are just so desperate for information on this game that has been so slow for the first 8 years of its development that we grab at anything. Tabata is obviously excited about the game and wants to share all he can but clearly his marketing team or someone at the company is regulating the flow of information. Maybe he should just stay quiet but that doesn't seem to be in his character.

Anyway, I look forward to the day they start announcing their previous announcements. Then announcing the previous announcements of those announcements. Eventually, they will announce several previous announcements that go all the way back to the beginning of time!
