Really sad news. It's not Christmas until Hans Gruber falls from Nakatomi Plaza. :( Also unashamedly love Prince of Thieves and he was a great sheriff in that. And of course absolutely nailed Severus Snape. A real loss of talent.

What is going on this week? Two 69 year old legends from London dying of cancer - both of them kept it really quiet too. Would like to take this opportunity to say smurf cancer.

Hans Gruber man. I am absolutely gutted. The hardest celebrity death for me since Robin Williams.

Die Hard is the greatest film of all time, and I watched it three times over Christmas, but I may just have to watch it again.

But didn't we have one week in June like that too? the one when Farrah Fawcett died, and Michael Jackson, and other people too...

By Grabthar's hammer, by the sons of Warvan, you shall be avenged!

Just recently I learned that Die Hard was his first movie. Talk about making an immediate impact! Rickman has excelled in any role I've seen him in so this is a great loss to the entertainment industry.

I can't think of a role I've seen him that he wasn't just spectacular in. From The Metatron, the Sheriff of Nottingham, to Marvin the Paranoid Android.
I actually didn't believe my husband when he told me.

This was my favorite role of his. I love Snape and Hans of course, but I'm a huge Sci Fi nerd and quoted this all the time. I loved every role he was in.

Yeah, I've been meaning to watch Galaxy Quest (only saw it once when I was a kid and loved it) and I think now's the time to do so.

Rest in Peace, Alan "Severus" Rickman.

Or should I say: Have a good journey home, Metatron.

Didn't take very long for a year to suck so much.

Just another reminder of why I'm happy to contribute to the Prevent Cancer Foundation every year at AGDQ. We still lose so many people to this (and so many other) diseases.

Nothing to say except:

By Grabthar's hammer, by the sons of Warvan, you shall be avenged!

Yes, he was awesome as Hans Gruber. His role as Snape was probably my favorite part of the Harry Potter films. But to me, he will always be Dr. Lazarus.

Die Hard will never be the same.

I will have to watch it again to stop the manly tears.

I really grew to enjoy him as an actor, and he became the de Facto Snape. I was really sad to hear about him dying.

Of course Lemmy would have Jack Daniels in heaven because why not?

I will be binge watching Galaxy Quest but I can't bring myself to binge Harry Potter just yet. Too many emotions.

My best friend cried a lot after I told her about Rockman's death...
This man had a great impact on film industry and our lives - we'll never forget him.

Oh, god. A certain scene in the last movie is going to be so much worse now.
